Liberty LS400 UCF20 after MC buildup
Don doesn't post on here. Matter of fact, I don't think he posts on any message forums. This is a guy I had to see way more times then I would have liked. He is the tow truck driver for my body/suspension shop.
The car is a LS400. This may not end up being an over the top build but definetly a sick build with lots of custom work. Getting the car ridiculously low is his main goal and so far, he has done that. The best part is that he did not hack up the strut towers to do so.

The shop owner Nate wears that Liberty shirt more then any one else I know lol
Here is the car so far. Its far from done
The front wheels were spaced out and the fenders were worked. They still need paint.
The flush fitment is the only thing that prevents the front from going lower. If the wheels tucked, he could lay the factory bumper on the ground. Now thats low.
He plans to throw 40mm spacers in the rear and pull out the quarters as well. He has some other plans too but we just need to sit back and wait for updates.

Thanks. New England is bit further up. This car is from NY which is considered the Tristate area. Thats where most of our cars are from but we do have 3-4 cars up in NE

I WANT PICS OF THE KNUCKLE PLEASE :)
very interesting, from what i can tell, in order to preserve the suspension geometry and keep everything square while he's so low he seems to have sectioned the knuckle, reducing the height close to what he had it dropped down to which would eliminate most of the upper control arm-->strut tower interference as well as allow for MUCH more camber, especiallly when loading up that corner if he so wished. i might be wrong but it may also correct for bump steer since now the upper control arms have a much tighter arc.
VERY interesting :giggity:

Car looks great! I am guessing that he is to busy towing peoples cars to get on forums. So two questions.. What do I have to do to get into Liberty Vip Car Club? and what kind of god awful wheels are on that accord in the background?

LOL Vip style is still super new out here so you will see a lot of BS from other cars. I was hoping that style wheel would die out in 2002 but I guess not.

Hey Agi... that's what I told Nate to do to my car when it was up there and he looked at me like I was insane... I guess he figured to try it with a shop employee first... LOL

That is really cool. The US take on shakotan is definitely interesting, and Liberty is an incredible pioneer for Vip styling

...just like back in the day when you break a pencil by weaving it under your pointer finger, over your middle finger and under your ring finger and slapping your knee with your hand. And then do the same with the broken pencil pieces. It gets harder to do the shorter the pieces get. Stupid analogy but same concept.

cant wait to see the result!
one question: why did you shorten that suspension part (I´m not sure how to call it, a knuckle??) and didnt use the YOUZEALAND SS KIT. Isnt what YOUZEALAND made for, lowering the car without changing suspension geometry??

The SS kit will give minor gains compared to the way he did it. He was basically able to cut and weld exactly where he wanted to get the desired height.

the SS kit primarily correct roll center, most VIP guys use it just/solely for the extra lowering/camber correction.
because the LS uses an unequal control arm front suspension, shortening the knuckle, aside from eliminating the strut tower bar interference, is that it will resquare the suspension geometry, and allow for more static camber among other things. there's a lot more to it but im studying for finals so....

I love this shit. My boss can do that type of suspension welding also so I I am considering doing that method over chopping up my shock towers

thanks PureDrifter!!
I was thinking about SS kit, but its $$, even only for the front, so I stick with this method. I believe its cheaper to do also.
I wonder how much its shortened? 2 inches??
VSC is the best, saves you money and nerves!!
Big  to widebody_Q for sharing, I would never come to this!

Broken record.....
The stance is nice indeed. And kudos for the customizing of the knuckles. I always wondered if that would work without causing major alignment issues. I was thinking about this for my KA9 but wasn't too sure about the ill effects. I may look into it again now.
Keep up the good work!
