y33 suspension set up
hey i was wondering what you guys think is better. i am running on blown shocks and cut springs, really bouncy, i can either get kyb sr special shocks and insurance springs, or i can do the conversion coil over set up using s13 coilovers.
If i do the kyb shocks and insurance springs will i still have the drop or would i have to cut them? thanks for the help

whats your budget?
thats the real question.
S13 coil set up is cool but will run you almost $2k+dependin on the brand you are goin to used.
spring and shocks dont get that much drop and will runn you jsut about as much as some used JIC coils for a y33 maybe a little bit more...

The determining factors are 1) ultimate goal 2) budget. How low are you trying to get, do you plan on doing air eventually, how stiff are you willing to have the car, etc etc?

Also not knowing the true condition of used coils can be a hassle and the cost of shipping seems to be pretty high due to the hub/spindle assembly being attatched to the coilover.
(heavier item)
All in all it's up to you and you have many options to choose from.

this is how low it is right now. i just want to fix the bounce. i dont want it to look like it is raised though. with the all shocks and springs it will come out to about 1000 with all the rubber extra stuff too. my max is 1200 right now.

LOL! Y'all the mofos I was tryna say wassup to when I passed you a few weeks ago. You the one that bought this from peter right?
Jus do the conversion and/or save up for air.
You should be able to find a good set of coil-overs for not too much more than 1200....

You won't be able to achieve that height and maintain it for long. For sure the insurance springs won't get you that low so you would have to cut them. And those kyb specials won't last long if you cut the springs.
I'd say either find a used y33 coilover setup or save up for the s-chassis swap. I'm doing the latter, I think it will give a lot more flexibility in the long run. The type of coilovers you choose will depend largely on your budget. I have a lot of s-chassis guys recommending stance coilovers. I'm personally looking at the gr+pro

I say go with the s13 or 14 set up , but I to was on cut springs for a while and I was told that checkers auto carry some thing like a spring spacers and that would stiffen up your ride its not the right way but it would get you buy until you get your suspension set of your choice I my self went with a pair of JIC non damping that I got off of yahoo auction for around 850 shipped and yes they were used but in good shape one I figure out how to post a pic on how my car sat I will

Strut mounts, dust boots, strut bearings. I think that's it, if you order from everythinginfiniti.com and just call them to place the order, they can tell you if there's anything else, but I'm pretty sure that covers it.
