03 Qfour5 build up

I think AGI and I have finally got enough parts and ideas up for me to justify starting a build thread and hopefully I can keep you all up to date on its progress, and move forward with a good enough pace to make a debut at a show or meet we go to in full force. Now for a list of parts, I will try to get some pics up as soon as I find my camera I think I left it in my girls’ car from our last snowboarding trip but I’m sure it will show up soon enough.[/COLOR][/SIZE][/FONT]

Oh another mod that might be going on is your polished window frame idea. Just don't know if I trust myself to do it without messing up any of the other paint. If I don't go all the way and polish them, I might try the chrome window trim pieces just not sold on them yet. Thanks for the interest and I will keep you updated.

Well thats the front bumper that I have so far, still gotta get some more for it.  Big plans and some parts are taking a long time to get here. Just sent out payment for some more parts. And AGI you got a payment coming to you soon for those other parts. I can't wait to make some more progress on this biuld. I'm working on some wiring for the air while its raining not much I can do on the actual car.

Kyle I still think you had one of the cleanest F50's in the US. And I hope that who ever ends up buying it respects what it was and only does more to bring it back to its rightfull status. I don't think I am trying to compete with any of the big dogs with F50's I just wanna do my car up and bring it to a respected level of tuning and hopefully fit in the vip scene. I think with the help and guidance I have gotten from all of you guys I should be able to do it. But I've been planning a lot of these parts for about a year and just now trying to pull them together. Hope this turns out to be a good build thread.

Ya I'm hoping to get away from that look real quick. how hard was mounting the rear bags Blitz and the fronts just bolt onto your coils basically right?

The rears are cake.  The fronts, not so easy

Ya I think I'm gonna have a shop do the fronts I might try to do the rears myself. I'm sure I can do all the wiring now that I'm looking into it more. The fronts on stock struts I'm either having a shop do them or sending them to UAS in Cali. 
 
Onto another thing. Any one have a good suggestion on a place to get Ballasts for my foglights in the JDM president headlights? I know I can go ebay but would I be better buying from someplace else? I need them for H11 bulbs on ebay I have seen full kits for $40-$60 and then I will just wire them in with a relay as kyle suggested.

My shop can do the fronts.  Have them do it when you bring it in for body work.

As for the ballasts, get the cheap ebay ones.  Its going to be a pain in the ass to remove the light if they blow though.  I'm not sure if Phillips makes that size but they would be real expensive if they did.  Will the buttcheek fogs stay on at all times?  If so look for quality.  If not, get the cheap ones

Haha I respect that qfour5, I'm glad to see new builds especially F50s.  My build for me was a great experience.  Only thing I have problem with is the peoples who check out the car, either low balling ridiculous, claiming the build is not VIP or don't have any knowledge of the scene, or straight up l know they not gonna take care.  I'm almost at a point of just keeping it LOL.   But back to topic your build gonna be awesome and can't wait, if I find a set of ballast ill just send them to you.  Good luck on the build other wise

liberty is doing it real big this year.  about 3-4 builds im really looking forward to.  glad to be  a part of it!

I hope you do keep it it's always frustrating trying to sell a modded car and dealing with all the lowballers and tire kickers. good luck but if you keep it I'll be just as happy for you.

Thanks, and I hope my build is one of the ones your excited for. But as far as what liberty has coming out this year, I am just doing what I can to stay with some of the guys and not get left to far behind. I'm just excited to finally stop representing the 4x4 chapter in Liberty, few finally getting down to a respectable height.

Thanks King but I'm only in the Big apple when I visit or go to shows or meets and half the time I'm there my car doesn't even make it with me. Plus AGI and his Q got NYC on lock down as far as F 50's go. I'm usually up around Boston or anywhere on the east coast of MA. But I do hope to roll into a few shows and post up to well modded Q's next to eachother so people can respect the hard work that went into mine and notice all the more work someone else has done.

No, well atleast I wasn't planning on the carpet but it might have to sometime down the road. for this project it's mostly exterior updates. Those are mercedes S550 fogs with an LED mod. I want to eventually add some Fx 35  projectors in with them and run a 3-4k bulb so it improves driving in poor weather conditions. Then I can have all bright white light (6-8k I believe) from the headlights even though one of them is supposed to be a fog.
 
More updates to come, I'll be getting my camera tonight or tomorrow so I can update pics of the trunk biuld and UAS mounting, still waiting on one piece of the UAS puzzle to go ahead and put stuff on.

I feel ya on wantin to do the interior/exterior. I wanna do up the inside too, but I've got so to much to get done on the outside, that I've neglected my interior, except for the knob and LED's hahaha. 
I got that same set up on my headlights/fogs, they're 6k/3k, gonna look good :biggthumpup:

lol thanks boss, well way things go I might end up keeping it too... I'll come to a decision soon, really tired of the bull crap low ballers already... but love those fog lights, was thinking of something like that awhile ago, but glad to see your Q doing it now... cherry!

Ok guys looking for some opinions between 2 parts. I am torn between just a trunk lip spoiler or a 1 piece trunk wing by JP. I think they both look good and would provide the type of look I'm looking for, I just don't know which way I will go. if you guys want to weigh in your points and opinions might help me out. also got some more parts I'll be posting up soon.

if you want I have a one piece president trunk spoiler from JP... in good condition.. let me know

The brain system for my suspension arrived today. Now once the weather gets better time to mount everything up and run everything for the rear. Debating on waiting for the body shop to do the fronts or doing them myself. I think I might have to get the suspension done first just to keep me excited while the body gets worked on.

This one box replaces all the valves solenoids and slowdowns that are usually needeed for the install. This will also make it easy for any future upgrades but that will be next season. For now I have this and will be moving forward with the air and then on to some more projects.

Made some more progress today. Got my control switch box wired up to the Accuair control unit. Also did some more planning on the trunk setup, I think I got almost everything figgured out. Bought 2 sheets of MDF and I can start making a floor to mount everything in the trunk nice and secure. I'm also going to redo some of my Car-PC to make it run a little better. Still waiting on my balasts for my president lights but once they get here the presidant lights will be installed immediately. I gotta order a reset switch for my car pc wire it in and get my comp running like new again. Then install all the trunk lining except the floor and get to work on a final subfloor for my trunk. Once I have everything installed I'll move onto carpetting and finishing everything off then the car will be going to a body shop for some seious work. I got some pics but I can't load them up until I get my laptop working again.

on with the build...

I got you mike it's not as hard as you think to get a car-pc in and running. The hard part is getting it to work just how you want it, and get great audio quality from that to you factory or aftermarket system(aftermarket for you and maybe me sometime in the next year). But ya I'm really excited about getting my build on the way and can't wait to start seeing the changes.
 
 Once I can post up some pics I will. Sucks having a camera that uses XD memory cards and your only comp with an XD slot goes down.

The car finally got to the shop.  I can speak for the whole crew, we are all relieved that you finally got it in lol.

He drove 6 hours to get it there from MA.  The North East VIP guys are some of the most dedicated in the country

LED tail lamp conversion next.  The quarters need to be modified near the tails in order to fit the 05-06 tail's while keeping the 02-04 trunk which was modified as well

All i can say is wow... makes me glad to see everything coming together.  Since my new job situation doesnt allow me to keep my f50 the way it is.  im happy to see yours taking shape and bringing much great representation to the f50 vip scene. They are putting the reclining/heated rear sears, rear control unit, power sunshade in the car.  The parts were from Kouki Monsters car.  I put it up on the liberty blog today but I will upload the pics to photobucket later on and post them up

^back arm rest control unit.  Controls the radio, volme, station, changes cd's, reclines the seats, controls the power rear shade, also has climate controls

Power rear shade.  He might be the only guy atleast that I know of to have all the premium back seat functions installed in a non premium.

interesting! I am liking it! When they rolled and pulled the rear, did they separate the inner fender  from the outer, roll pull push up attach. I ask cause I am still trying to figure out what i am gonna do.

Yea, they tubbed the rears.  The inner fenders were pushed up.  He can roll while tucking close to two inches of rim

nice, yeah been thinking about this too.. seen a few how too's as well. how did they strengthen the outer fender now its not attached at the edge? did they tack in thin metal bar, like what they use when they radius

Ya I remember you how are the wheels treating you I still miss them if you ever decide to switch it up let me know I might be interested in buying them back. As far a the build I wanted to get most of it done at once so I spent some time stock piling parts and pieces. But for mow I'm just anxious to get the car back. I let you know when I get it and I might be going to the funk flex show I'm providence on October 3rd

yea the wheels are great..im going to try and get the rears barreled over the winter and make them alot more aggressive...i might swing by that show since its like 10 minutes away..best of luck with the car though

hey can we get some comparison pics of the original trunk and new trunk? sorry if its been posted elsewhere, id like to see how much all the trouble is worth. real excited for this build.

Here's an angle shot of my stock my model year trunk

The tails are rounded not straight where they meet the trunk lid. I am having a junction produce trunk lip wing molded on to AGIs old lid the newer model tails with incorporated LEDs. It also doesn't have the inner taillights on the trunk lid which kinda look like the g35 trunk and taillights. I'll try to upload more comparison pics and progress pics later expecting some from the shop soon.

Sorry for being so slow with the updates heres the newer version of AGI's best of both model trunk and some nice shots of the work the shop did on the rear will have more up hopefully soon and hope to pic her up soon after that!

The whole car is getting repainted.  It should be getting primed soon.  I might take the 8 hour round trip to see it once its done.  I can't wait

AJ still waiting to find out if they are gonna ship out the seats or if I'm going to be shipping them when I pick up the car. But as for the progress here is where it stands. Nate  from dreammakers and I talked this morning and he set out a timeline for the cars completion. This is what it breaks down to:
Priming it tomorrow.
Sanding Monday. 
Paint tuesday.
Assembly Wednesday. 
Polish and clean Thursday. 
So Friday would be the day. 

So stay tuned for updates and progress my car will be done very soon.

I loved the rear lighting the first pic I got via text message with it all lit up was amazing. I still gotta pick up one more part of the lighting for the front end but that should be done by tomorrow.

Thanks and I will be getting more pics gotta get the new tires for the front wheels tomorrow had a blow out on the way home from NY tires should be in by 9 am tuesday morning, and then lights should get finished up. Then maybe a mini photoshoot with BLKvip and then lots to come after the weekend.

 Thanks thats one of the things I really like about the work that Nate and his crew did at the shop. They  made everything just fit and fit like it was OEM. They really did a great job. And thanks for the compliments its great to hear. And sorry to say but I can't even remember what that car looked like I know he had done a lot of stuff to it.

I was thinking maybe if that wheel was chrome or if you jus went w/ a newer style work wheel, weds or leons. Jus something that would add more pop to the car. I've never really been a fan of these wheels on any thing though

I do have a couple other wheels I would love to get that I think will work very well and compliment my build as well. But this was more of an attack on the body and suspension I had the car for 2 years and couldn't stand riding at 4x4 status any more and the body work was gonna be needed had a ding on the rear bumper when I got it and some a$$hole hit me when I was out so that pushed me to go in on the body work. I love the work and am open to any ideas on wheel suggestions. there are a few that i really like and would love to get if the money is right and ready. But this is just one step in my whole build interior and some other things are woking in my mind right now.
 
And I have no problem with criticism especially if it's constructive. I feel there is a difference between that and hate.

Some wheels are just pure art. Sometimes never fit a car at all. but just beautiful to look at. I think that is one of them.

Mike I already talked to AGI about them, and if they don't move by the time I get the loot for them I will definitely be thinking about those. I saw a picture of a silver F50 with those wheels in flat black, they looked really good I'll try to post it if I can remember where I saw it. I also looked into some weds works and blackfleet. I'll try to post up some of the wheels I'm looking at and let you all way in but I feel the same way a lot of you guys do and I think I'm definitely gonna switch up the wheels by next season.

I would love to see/try and widen these for a different look.

Does anyone know where I could get a new barrel for them and how much it would cost me. I believe they are a 2 piece wheel and I'm fine with that I do like 3 piece better but am not set on only getting 3 piece. I don't want to go with a monoblock or any 1 piece wheel, just personal preference I'm not a fan of 1 piece wheels. Also AGI is there anytime coming up soon I can get them on for a sneak preview of how they'd look I'll have to look into adapter plates to get them to fit  bolt wise but also as spacers for now. I'll keep in touch with you about it.

rear end came out really dope.  i think side profile looks a little weird because of the radius heights, but all in all, you went in and it payed off.

Not a rebarrel, but this guys work is pretty impressive. He can widen one piece wheels, same concept with a 2 piece I'm sure. From my understanding you wouldn't get more lippage out of them, but they would be wider. Just gets tricky calculating offsets. I agree that they'd be crazy with some deep lips, but I've always been a fan of the way the LM6 looks without. Could look into running the 9.5 up front and have the 8.5 widened to say 10.5 +...

Ok guys been away for a while on to some more mods. This time im attacking the interior with some help from friends and maybe redoing the audio/video. I got some parts and some Ideas and I'll do my best to keep this up to date, and keep pics and progress moving forward.
 
I have plans for the roof seats and inserts. more on that to come.
 
I also may be switching up the body work a little bit more and the wheels to go along with it.

lol just re-read my post and i guess it was sort of an open ended question. im specifically talking about the tail lamps.

Ok I'll try to get some pics up soon. be Ernest it is not easy and body work has to be done. 

First off I am not the first to do this but the second. AGI did it first and I followed his lead and swapped some parts with him. There are two way or more to do it. The shop that did mine did a better job in my eyes and did it with much less filler and made the lines a little cleaner. 

My shop, Dream maker Kustoms in upstate NY (Also AGI's shop of choice now) did a lot of work on the trunk and bumper to make it work and kept it mainly metal and gave it a factory finish look. 

The hop that AGI went to first did a lot of bond filler work and modified the quarters to make it work. 

Either way it is not simple and will take multiple hours. But I think it looks really clean and gives the back of the F50 a newer, sporty, and kinda meaner look.

its a good mix between old and new. new school lights but old school style without the lights on the trunk. and plus you get LED's =D 

without regard to price, wouldnt it be easier to get a 05-06 trunk lid and shave the lights off of it? the lines for the tails are already there and from what i can see the rest of the trunk should line up perfectly. all that would be left is some modification to the quarter panel.

As far as buying the newer trunk there the other problems you run into I can't remember them exactly but if AGI see's this I'm sure he can chime in on that. As for some pics of the lights and trunk here you go most of these are cell phone pic so please don't mind the low quality you'll be able to tell which ones an actual picture

id say the rear end is the best part of the car, especially whn you get all those gaps filled in

I love how it came out right now the rear has mesh in the openings. You can't see it in the pics but in person it is a lot more noticeable and doesn't look empty. But that is one thing that might be getting changed up in round two. I want to get the BMW price that gies there have it painted either black or body colored and trimester to fit with the LED lights that are in the opening.

One more thing I hotta work on is getting all of my lights to work at once it seems like once I fix one that's out another burns out. Right now I need to replace a map light and figure out why my rear bumper LEDs aren't lighting up. Hopefully it's just a lose wire or a relations of the car all lit up will hopefully be up Sunday night

Yes the rear spoiler is molded on. I love that look it makes it look more stock and smoothed out much better IMHO but ya for now that's how she is and mire changes coming shortly plus going in for round two

As far as the "custom" kit goes, I think the front works well. It would perhaps look better with the vertical bars painted black so the horizontal bar looks like it's floating.

The way the rear bumper is "molded" looks awkward as well. Regardless, I can appreciate the thought outside of an off-the-shelf kit. Out of curiosity, what made you choose those specific bumpers?

There is a piece in the lower bumper that wasn't installed.  It goes in the section where the lower bumper leds are.  The vents were not cut how we wanted, he didn't get a picture I showed him.  They are getting redone when his car goes back in the shop.  The inner edges will all be angled and sharp not to mention closer to each other to compliment the lines of the rear.

As for the side reflection, the bumper is flared out along with the quarters to avoid rubbing at slammed heights.  It gives that look in pics and its magnified cause its silver but its not like that in person

Hey guys got a lot more coming soon had a lot more ideas building in my head and with the teams help a lot more then I can think of by myself. Still got a lot of parts I want to add to this that I've been stock piling and more parts I want to buy. Waiting to see if I can win a Porsche bumper for a little added piece and some more stuff coming up soon stay tuned and hopefully I don't disappoint

Well, wheels are in other parts are ordered and in already trying to get the car in the shop for this years changes asap. It's tough going completely custom and creating a ride around yourself, truly making it your own, something that a few of the members in here have managed and others are still in the quest of as I am. I think a lot of us that go custom body study body lines arches and curvesad create some along the way. Which leads to us taking multiple steps along the ways we are tackling lots of areas and aspects of the car at the same time. It's exciting everytime you complete something, but by the time you're done most things get changed again. My car is about to head to the body shop again and will come out much different but more to mine and the shops liking thus time. Look for updates over the next month

Do you still have a connection at Nissan or Infiniti I need to get wires to make the seats I got off you work and I night be looking to get one other part if you can get a hookup price. I gotta try to change my mind on audio in the trunk originally I was gonna do a rear deck amp rack draw but now your doing it so I gotta do something else

Hey guys what's up sorry I've been really lax on here just been busy working and prepping with parts and ideas for this round. I got some changes to the exterior working and some fender work to get the new wheels fitting how I want along with some small suspension tweaks. I got some nice luxury abstract additions that I couldn't say no to. Really excited to see the wheels as I had them shipped straight to the shop. And haven't even seen them with my own eyes. As I want to be shocked and happily surprised when I see it done. I also redid the whole audio/video system got rid of the old car p.c. I had done and went with a more reliable option. More on that to cone. I also am working on sone interior changes that will hopefully help pull everything together inside and out. I'll try to keep everyone posted as I get updates and as mire ideas develop and change and move to completion. Thanks guys and please keep all the feed back coming both positive and negative. I'm not worried about hate but love hearing constructive criticism.

I must say I love how the BBK rotoras look behind the luxury Abstract Grassor Concaves. Very Happy with the sizes AGI suggested and glad i didnt get talked out of them. I think they look great and the fender work makes them fit the car great. This is exactly what I wanted. DK did a great job.

Too bad with all that work and money put into the bodywork they couldnt get the rear radius to match the fronts...  im not hatin.. just keepin it real.. tuckin is koo only if its tuckin all around..

Pretty sure he didn't want a radius in the back.  Besides, with a little work, the front will come down lower.  :)

I must have missed it somewhere but are the wheels 19" or 20"?

in person the body work is just amazing, DK did such a great job. the front fenders look factory even with vents. rear now looks 100x better than the last setup. B i finally saw the jdm fogs on lol

The craziest thing about your car Brendan... That just as pictured in that picture by Garage Spec, it rolls without a peep of rubbing... It looks like its gliding...

Chris we gotta talk about ideas to get the front lower what are your thoughts i know I can bring it down more in the front.
 
Flexin no worries I  like criticism and it didnt sound like Hate. I didnt want them to radius the rears as I should be able to get the front a little lower and almost match the rear tuck. The rear was radius without cutting but not extremely due to the metal work Nate and the guys at DK did. so it is higher then it was before. We'll see if I can get it to level out a little more as it sounds we'd both like to see it. 
 
Bboy yes those are the wheels they are 19's and i dont remember the exact specs but i'm sure they are in there if not I will post them up as it took a lot of work to fit them I dont think any info will help anyone size wheels on thier own car.

Thanks AJ, and dirty always good to hear and I got some links to videos and other coverage I'll throw up over here and in new threads it looks like the show was a Blast I'm just glad my car Made it... Big thanks to AGI and Nate even if he was bombing around the place at 0 psi. I guess thats a good thing and I have some ideas froming to drop the front lower and by what I'm told I should be able to bring it down another 1-1.5 inches so hopefully close to tucking in front like the rear.
 
And simple thanks for the comment and update I'll have to check the car over very closely before picking it up. Thats right I still dont have it and havent had a chance to get up there to pick it up hopefully sometime soon. But with the review you and everyone else are giving me I'm sure I'll like it.

It's crazy I never met the guy or even talked to him but they way all his friends talk about him and they way he carried himself on the forums he looked like one of the coolest and most humble guys here.
