best way to ship rims

So i just went to get a shipping quote to send some rims out to hawaii and ups is charging 187 per rim to be shipped from portland Oregon to Hawaii. I never shipped rims before and that seems like a crazy amount. Anyone have suggestions on the cheapest way to ship these out ?

thanks in advance

Are they packaging them up for you or something? That is absurd. Look into USPS or Fedex. Personally, I ship all my wheels and tires through Fedex. Also, you might want to do it online. You usually save quite a bit doing it that way.

The best way to ship yours wheels would be dealing with "The Dark" Service Company.
They will ship internationally and it's very fast. Your wheels will probably come in quicker than you know it. They use to do hyper speed deliveries, but people had complaint of losing certain objects and to only find them in another country fried up by the atmosphere. So now they've gone with a better way to ship things.

Fedex was the fastest, easiest and cheapest for me when I shipped my 20s w/ tires. As far as the process jus get some boxes from like a target or some store (The best: go to a rim shop and ask for the round card board pieces they have when they ship rims), cut the box so that a side fits over the face of the rim and tape the sh*t out of them one by one. I used like 2-3 rolls of that packaging tape. Also fedex has a BOMB ass insurance price. I think it was like $10 covers every $1000
