Replacing shock question fgy33

is there anything special  i need to know about replacing my stock shocks with new kyb shocks? i have a 1997 q45

Not really, it is pretty straight forward. Probably the biggest issue will be the abs sensor. be careful not to damage it in the process.

Its pretty straight up. Good luck on poppin out the lower ball joint, I remember that thing bein a b!tch

ball joint seperator. You just have to go hard on it. I would suggest removing the whole LCA with the strut to make removing the BJ easier but there is a good chance you could damage that too. Forgot about that ish.....and they are like avg $240 to replace since you can't buy just the ball joint for a Y33.

If you're putting KYB SR's, just make sure (since it will be in Japanese) to put the spacer into the bottom of the cartridge on the fronts, or they won't be snug and will probably make all kinda noise. I did it right the 1st time, but I know someone who didn't.

how is the ride with them on? How long did it take you to install them?

it's awesome. Even after cutting coils off Tein, the ride is still really good all things considered. Big bumps are a whack, but other than that, just know your roads, and you'll be really happy.  Mine have about 30k on them.

Install was about 5-6 hours total f/r
