I've owned the NS2's, good ride and quite on the highway. Any feedback on the Falkens as far as ride or noise? Looking for a quite, smooth ride. (225/30/20) or (225/35/20) Thanks
All of us out here wanted to try out the NS2s but they're discontinued.... I've loved my FALKEN 452s so far....as long as I'm getting them for the low Otherwise NANKANGS it is! HHAHAHA!
FYI, you can still get most NS2's on ebay, most are only 1 year old or less.
NS2's are readily available here no issues at all, just picked up a set of 235/35/19 and 265/30/19. The FK452s are prone to bubbling. Everyone who has them, at least one has bubbled, if not more. Another choice for you to look at is General Exclaim UHP a great all season tire or Nexen N3000 or N7000 if they make it in the size u need.
Stay away from FK452s. They are probably the worst tire out there. They run big, so they don't stretch well. They get noisy and don't grip. The have weak sidewalls so they bubble. I've had good experiences with Nankang NS2 and Nexen N3000. They stretch well, are dirt cheap, and don't bubble.
452s have a 50/50 wrapsheet... they require a lot more attention... I'll agree they dont stretch like most. Try the Sdrive... similar tread pattern and a very well made tire.
I have to admit, I have somewhat of a sponsorship w/ FALKEN and they're kinda like family to me and I do have a spot where I get 452s at a low price, but all this talk is starting to make me want to go back to my Nankangs :sad: Rather be safe than sorry + I haven't been showing much lately so...... :shrug:
452s are wack imo, bubbles like crazy.. im actually running nankangs NSII and nexen 3000, no bubbles til this day. had them for about 10k now

I have had several sets of 452s and this is my first bubble but I still think it all depends on how they were installed. But these were direct from falken and more people trust nankangs vs. the bad stories of the 452s. I'm jus sayin, don't here too much negatives about nankangs and most complain about 452s :shrug: Norman you gotz $$$$ so you can go though and buy new tires like it's water:slap:
i actually like the stretch that 452 gives you...but yes, they do bubble =[ nexen is legit tho :P

i dont trust them, your tires is the most important part of your car IMO. heavy car, slammed, cambered= gotta have tires you trust but they are dirt cheap

im running now those nanking ns2,pick up 85 mounted balance and i most say they ride smooth and clean the other i had where Michelin and where noisy i heard that nanking where noisy,and i can say there a quieter
Well you're comparing Japan vs. Indo or Malay quality IMHO Nankangs are shit tires. I think they are in my top 3 worst tires ever used and customer reviews. Here's the ironic thing about vip style. everyone spends an ass load on the car and wheels but 95% buy the cheapest shittiest tires because they are a wear and tear item. I recommend Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 or Pilot Sporst A/S Plus. If you want a good tires that doesnt cost a lot go with Yokohama S.Drive whicle they're still available. Falken FK452 are not so bad but I wouldn't buy one that wasn't stamped "XL" (Reinforced sidewalls)

It all about how someone installs them. I know im sponsored by Falken but I never had a problem with them. The stretch I think is great the noise isnt as bad as some tires. You have to remember the price your paying for your tires and who mounts them. Bubbles can happen to any tire with wrong install. Remember when you get into the bigger the rims the softer the tires are so no matter what the tires are going to wear out faster plus with wider wheels and camber its not going to be the same. Pancakes you had Nankangs with your AMEs which wasnt as agressive and you werent running as much camber because they didnt need it because they werent as agressive. Even if you go with Yokos or Dunlops or even toyos you will have the same problems. Just my 2 cents.

Yes its not driven everyday but remember all tires are rated for a certain mile before they give out or wear down and that is under stock conditions. Just remember before saying anything bad about a tire company shit happens to everything. We had nails in my bros tires but never had a crazy bubble like what pancakes had but im not going to sit here saying those tires are bad. Not everyone is running on falkens that we hang out with and each one of us had issues with tires but we still all use whatever we can afford or what id given to us. This is what we chose to do and the conditions we ride in and issues will happen but you dont see people stop racing because they had one tire blow out...they fix it and keep doing it!
LOL! nice pic! In my defense, w/ the wheel and tire specs and beating I put on my car, I know that these types of issues are likely to happen at anytime. Jus part of the game.....I jus wish I had funds to not have to really worry about it HA! *The crazy bubble on my old tires was due to me seeing a flat tire and filling the tire up not knowing there was a nail in it, which cause the freaky bubble. This was my only bubble on my nankangs so choc that up to my error. The blow outs w/ the Nankangs was due to excessive where. Once your past metal showing, it's past time for new tires LOL! And these 452s are only a issue because the tire shop that installed them F*** up the strech so the strech didn't hold and then they tried to fix it which cause the issue I have now. My strech is pretty extreme so yea, these things will happen.....F*** IT!

Don't get me wrong Oscar, I can see the logic behind getting cheaper tires. As for the Yokohama's If you see the prices on Tire Rack on the S.Drive's the're really cheap because the S.Drive's are going to be discontinued soon. Just from what I've seen I can't say I've had the greatest experience from Nankangs. But we also have to take into account the OEM Load Rating for vehicles. Front what I've seen this is one of the leading causes for bubbles on the side next to pot holes. Take for example the 2GS and Y33 require a minimum of "94" for the load rating. Most people running 19's are running 215/35 to 235/35 , no matter what brand you choose it will only range from 84-91 for the load. So the extra weight causes more stress on the sidewalls, so if you hit a pot hole you can pretty much garantee a bubble. And even if you dont hit a pot hole, just the extra weight alone can cause a belt to break and bubble.

I had a pair of 452s and they both bubbled around the same time. They only lasted for about 4 months. I will never buy them again. I have Federals all around and I'm quite happy with them.

[/QUOTE] This thread is about tires, cheap and reliable man... that car, as you said, is not daily, and to even add that you guys drive it to events, come on now, realistically, how many miles is that per year? :pat: BTW, I'm not hating, I'm just saying, you know how it is. I love the cars you guys build. I've seen too many tires bubble, I can definitely say that the sizing and features of the tires are weak. The design is flawed and should be fixed/analyzed. Don't get me wrong, I love Falken tires, but realistically, if shit happens, more often that you would think, you have to try something else, especially something that has worked well for others.

I've had great experiences with 452s. I miss when they were dirt cheap like nankangs. On NS-ii's now and I feel like my car all of a sudden needs four wheel bearings. They're crap as far as i'm concerned but i'm going to continue running them because they're so cheap :smiley-rofl: ... Thats just my .02 though...

I used 215/35s on 19x8.5s on my 1st gen odyssey. I got nankangs on my gs and no problems

yeah I have had 452's and I have had nothing but bad experiences with them... from bubbling to shredding.
ＦＫ４５２　＝　Ｆａｉｌ Nankang = Running them right now but so far so good. They are loud though. Hankook my buddy has them and has had no problems. Moderate noise.
I have run: FK452's=> Bad Experience. ST115's=> Great Tire, not the best grip but a great tire DZ101's=> Wait what ? Tires need to grip when its wet? PS2's=> Great tire but $$$$$ and you can't flip them FTL! Nexen N3000=> Super stiff sidewall=> but great stretch and super good wear...Not the best wet grip either.. T1R's Bubbled Sidewall on my first set; upsized one size up for my sidewalls then they ran fine until they wore down. Great Grip as well Now I'm waiting to run the Nankang NS2's I just bough... From what my friend's have run FK452's=> Same gripe as me..Noisy/Bubbling/One even shredded. FK451's=> Seemed to love ST115's=> Loved them V12 Evo's=> Don't hold up when they get hot. Sdrive's => Love them but they are over sized and sidewalls bulge and they're a bit squeaky. Pirielli PZero's=> Soft Sidewall easy stretch. RE960's=> My Cousin ran some on his BMW E60.Great grip, awesome hydroplane resistance but the only con was couldn't flip them. Vredstein's=> Do not like to stretch and they shred.
^^ s.drives are really squeaky, at least in my experience.
I have had bad luck with the FK 452 and owned quiet a few sets. Gave up on them years ago. Nitto NT555 have been the best for me in the price range. Trying out Nexens now...XL and high wear rating...we'll see.

Falken 452 = failed in one week then it was good only to be used as a tire swing .. Nankang NS2 = failed 225 35 20 will not hold on a 9.5 inch rim tires 2 sets .. BFG KDW = Nice looks great but very loud ..very nice stretch Moving on to T1R ... (unkown) :shrug:
im using achilles in the front and its great. pretty low noise compared to my old federals i've used nankangs, general, dunlop sp9000 but only in the rear, so i cant compare stretches pretty nice too!
