There is a big difference in ride quality of 30 and 35 series tires. We run 235/30 on 9" all the time, but we popped both tires on same day (FK452) on 9.5" so that's the other thing you might want to think about. We went with 245/30 but after that for a better stretch we stepped down to 235/35 and it's working just fine but there are not that many tire brand options for the size.
I say go with the 35 series tires, more rubber between the road and your wheels the better. Unless of course you need a smaller side wall for clearance issues. Sukoshiyoshi

thanks for the advice

Nope! Be haulin' stuff everyday in it :)
just a heads up your going to have to throw a spacer on the rear cause its probably gonna rub real bad, well actually touch the suspension arm and make it undrivable. i have 18x9.5 +43 on the rear of my ra1 and it touched. thats only a 3mm difference but still. i threw on a 15mm spacer and now there is about a one finger space between the the inside lip of my wheel and the suspension arm.
No spacer needed, and no rubbing. I have about 3-4mm clearance, that's all that's needed.
