XDC Supershow Drifting, Time Attack, and Car Show in Sin City
May 4, 2010 (Tustin, Calif.) – The Xtreme Drift Circuit is set to take Las Vegas by storm when it arrives in town on May 21-22 as part of the XDC Supershow – an automotive lifestyle festival that will combine Drifting, Time Attack, and a huge car show at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Drifts, Whips, and Chicks is the motto of the XDC Supershow at LVMS’ Proving Grounds, which is the second stop of the 2010 Xtreme Drift Circuit championship season. XDC is one of three main attractions that will be featured throughout the day.
Xtreme Drift Circuit – the nation’s showcase for the up-and-coming drivers, the XDC is one of the country’s leading sanctioning bodies for the fastest growing motorsport in the world – drifting. For the first time, drifting will take place on the outside road course at LVMS, which means the drivers of the XDC will be sliding their cars inches away from each other at almost 100mph. At the first event of the season, held at Irwindale, California, Canada’s David Briggs defeated Quoc Ly in a thrilling top-16 finale and enters Las Vegas as the points leader, where the two drivers will square off against some of the best drivers from the Vegas Drift championship.
Super Lap Battle – The wild cars of the Super Lap Battle will scorch the pavement in Las Vegas. As some of the fastest and wildest machines the crowd will ever see, Super Lap Battle is all about one thing – extracting the ultimate speed out of a car over a flying lap. Confirmed cars include the Crawford Performance Subaru STi, the Evasive Motorsports Mitsubishi Evo IX, and the GST Subaru Impreza, some of the fastest time attack machines in the country.
REMIX Award Tour – More than 300 of the hottest show cars on the west coast will be on display, representing everything from exotic supercars, modern-day muscle cars, trucks, and tuner cars. REMIX features DJ’s spinning music throughout the day, as well as fashion shows featuring the ladies of the XDC Supershow. Several of Las Vegas’ largest car groups have already signed up to represent in force on May 22.
The XDC has also planned several ancillary events that include new series sponsor Del Taco, the Midnight Gaming Tour, and several promotional events planned through Las Vegas radio station Hot 97.5 KVEG. A Saturday post-party will be hosted at JET nightclub at the Mirage, where an XDC ticket stub will get free admission, and a Sunday pool party that will be hosted by XDC driver and reality TV star Nick Hogan.
“We will be providing spectators with something different than what is traditionally offered at Las Vegas Motor Speedway,” said Michael Munar, President of XDC Events. “We’ll have the incredible XDC drifting competition, we’ll have the insanely fast cars of the Super Lap Battle, and we’ll have hundreds of cars and beautiful women to look at in the REMIX Award Tour. It will be the only event of its kind this year in Las Vegas.”
