New guy in Las Vegas
I've been a member since 2007 but mostly to look at the pictures. I bought my 1994 Q45 w/ 211k miles on Dec. 2008 and have been slowly bringing it back to life.
It originally had an overheating problem and after checking a few things here and there trying to be a mechanic I pulled the motor out in my garage around March 2009 in favor of a lower mileage 96 engine that has 90k miles. Now I'm not a mechanic but I do a lot of research and I've done a few engine swaps but I mostly learn as I go.
I started by pulling accessories off the donor motor all the way down to just the complete block cleaned and degrease everything, & replaced knock sensors & hoses under intake manifold, changed out oil pump. Then I resealed everything including the valve covers with new gaskets and gasket maker and now the engine looks like new. Used every possible brush from a wire brush, brushes for cleaning wheels, to a tooth brush to get into every spot that had some dirt or oil I hated every minute of it but I'm happy with the end result.
Since 2009 was pretty shitty for me in every possible way along with getting T-boned in my Suburban this past March my car sat heartless since pulling the original motor out last year and it was too cold to work on it in the winter. The only thing I managed to do was drop the motor into the engine bay with my hoist. Now since I was in the accident obviously I was hurt and not able to finish up the swap on my own because my back is jacked up so I was lucky to find out my older cousin's son in-law owned a performance shop soooo he finished it up for me.
As of right now the car runs great but it doesn't seem to have the same power as the older engine but I think the newer engine uses different cams so I'm wondering if I could or should swap them out? Suggestions? I don't care much for performance at this time and it might not be worth the extra down time even if it can be done.
I recently purchased Megan coilovers & adjustable arms from Joey (hahajoey) and I'm hoping to get some wheels sometime in the next few months or so. I like VIP style but I will never get to the level a lot of you guys are on but I like to watch people progress with their cars.
Thanks for reading my long introduction =)

I posted pics in the VIP 101 section I'll have more today I went to that carnival thing at the silverton last night and got wasted so I just woke up. Had to park in the dirt so my ride is dirty and I don't want to post pictures of my ride all dusty but I'll give it a wash before I go to work tonight and post some more pictures tomorrow. Does everyone get parts local? I'm in the market for HID kits for my Q and another car LMK

Glad to be a part of the site guys, I'm going to be selling the car pretty soon so I can buy a 2002 Q45 so I'll be posting up the coilovers &adjustable arms for sale.
I was thinking about going to the euro side but I'm a Nissan person at heart and I'm pretty damn loyal so if you guys know anyone please let them know these are for sale.
I bought these from a guy on this forum for $800 so if you want them make me an offer and they are yours.
