In AZ and my q is at about 210k no problems so far but I have had a trans flush done.

How many hours into it so far? This maybe the route I take if my motor-trans give up the ghost.

Yeah it was a lot of work but it was worth it. The swap took a while to finish but only because of other personal problems and wanting to completely clean and reseal the entire engine. With no interruptions & the FSM the job would have taken about 2-3 weeks doing everything myself with no help.

That time frame includes having to work a full time job and spending time with my wife and 4 kids. It's not as much work as people think because it's just a remove and replace situation so no custom work needed to be done.

The previous owner had the transmission completely rebuilt at 130k in So. California so the transmission is not of any concern at the moment but if it does go I'm not too worried LV is pretty small so getting home won't be a problem. Plus I have the transmission from the Q I got my new motor from ready to be put into use if needed.

I get its a lot of work but its always worth it in the end. How long did it take you to clean that engine?

It took me about a week to clean all of the areas I wanted to get to including removing the intake assembly and waiting for replacement gaskets, sensors & hoses. I'm actually planning on having my friend rebuild my extra tranny just in case.
