bilsteins on rear uas question

i recently purchased bilstein sports to replace my super blown shocks and my question is in the rear is  there suppose to be a bracket from the top of the bag to the strut  mount that bolts to the shock tower.? on the blown shocks i just pressed  the piston down so the strut mount would reach the bag and bolted it down. this is on a gs400 btw
