VIP Style IS300 from Canada

Hey everyone,

I have been lurking the site as a non member for a lil while now and wanted to join for a while now, but I didnt want to until my car was considered somewhat close to being VIP Styled.

So this is the platform: I am driving a 2001 Lexus IS300 as my daily driver. I bought the car exactly a year ago and this is how it looked when I went to pick it up:

I wanted class and sportiness. I was thinking of getting a GS but it just wasnt me at the current time.

2005 Lexus RX330 Antenna
Fujitsubo Power Getter exhaust w/ cut out resonator

Saw your car at Stretch & Poke. Looks good. I don't know how the Version Select kit is going to be accepted here but I personally think it'll look good.

Thanks :)...I think I saw your car there too. Does your rims have black faces now?

As for the VS kit, I know its not Vertex (I will eventually get a Vertex bumper) but for Daily Driving the Car here in Toronto, you know the roads suck and dont wanna rip a $800USD bumper to shreds. Plus I got an amazing deal. Also, there is a sticky of VIP parts places and Origin-Lab is on there :).

And thanks for the good words. I think it will turn out clean and classy (as classy a first gen IS can get).

Thanks man. What car was yours? Was it the Q45?

And ya, those wheels are a pain to clean. Every slot where there is a bolt has to be scrubbed w/ a tooth brush to get all the brake dust out. Have to do it again, but you cant really tell unless you look for it right now :P

Do you guys hold any VIP meets here?

So to add to the list, I just ordered a Junction Produce Mark Emblem (medium). Plan is to put that where the L is on the back and leave the Altezza emblem on the front.

What do you think?

Hey guys...sooooooo I have an update!!!!!

I got the kit on!!!!!! It changes the look of the car soooo much. I still havent fully finished but its on :)

There is some bad news tho. A couple of days after the kit was on, I went into some bad roads in the city and the front bottomed out so bad that it cracked....then to make matters worse, when I drove on the highway yesterday, there was some debre on the highway and I couldnt swirve away in time, so it hit the corner of the bumper and broke a tab (the one on the driver's side fender...where it cracked from before). It isnt fully noticable from far, only if you go close to look and it still holds on well. I am now driving the limit or under LOL.

I also found out that my car is LSD already, so I am now questioning whether I want my mkIII pumpkin now.......it may be up for sale very soon...like after I post this haha.

So what is left to put on? Well I wired up the fog deletes and everything, to only notice I was stupid and didnt test fit...The bumper came with extra material on the inner portion of the fogs so I need to sand away from the inside slowly to get them to fit, then wire them up. Should be done this weekend. Also, I need to find time and a good weathered night to tape up the Roof Spoiler...then put it on. :)
So here are the pics as of now :P...What do you all think?

These are from when I just installed the kit...I know...very dirty:

Nice progress!
Too bad about the damage already. I guess we have to expect it riding as low as we do.

I want to get it really bad, but my bumper really needs to get first before i can add things onto it. And to make sure it doesnt happen again, i may need stiffer coils. :( I really want it too, but I think what will happen is for the Liberty meet, I'll either unbolt my plate mounts or tilt the plat up into the grill. :( it is sooooooooooo tempting man!

And yep, I am trying to bring the little 1st gen baby up there with its older brothers. Its hard but I like the originality of it all :)

The SPC Camber kits are good for minor adjustments that cant be made on the OEM adjusters. You can go more positive camber in the rear for when you lower the car and the front allows you to go more postive or negative. If you want to go more negative in the rear, I would suggest Figs Rear Lower Control Arms.

The only issue I have with them is that I cant go too much lower in the front. If i do, the upper control arm hits the top of the subframe on bigger bumps. If you dont mkind that, then it is ok.

Having ridden in an is3 that's significantly lower (no hate) the control arms hitting isn't that bad and over time it conforms the tower ever so slightly so that if u sell, you won't have a hole cut or something along those lines.

What coils?

Clean nonetheless!

Having ridden in an is3 that's significantly lower (no hate) the control arms hitting isn't that bad and over time it conforms the tower ever so slightly so that if u sell, you won't have a hole cut or something along those lines.

What coils?

So there is an update...I have finally found a set of wheels that fit the stance better, not only are one of my favourite set of wheels out there.

They are a set of Leon Hardiritt Bugels
They are a used set and have already been refinished faces. The colour is Silver/Polish (faces were repolished)
The new set up is
18x8.5 +42 front (i will either keep my 15mm spacer or switch up to a 20mm spacer)

18x10 +24 rear

bugels are dope. both caps are a good look but i think the red will tie into the car by matching the taillights and sporty vibe.

Soooooooo, JDM tails are done so much for the IS and i want to go something a lil classier, so I picked up a set of LED V2 tails. Not OEM but I feel suit the look a little better. Here are some pics for people to see what they look like if you don't know:

Also, since the IS has circle tails and these aren't, I feel the trunk circles dont really flow as nice, so i will rewire them as a brake light and tint them black to get this sort of look:

By any chance, do you or anyone else know the specs of the stance on this is3? This is the look I'm sorta looking for. Btw, do you have any more pics/specs of this is3? and where can I find a pair of those led v2 tail lights? The only site I found them on was k2motor but they are out of stock at the moment and I'm not sure if they're getting anymore in. Sorry to overwhelm you with all of these questions lol. I'm pretty much a noob. Forum image

If you have any fitment questions for the IS300, you are welcome to PM me and I will help you out on it.

As for the taillights, I have been searching for these things since I first saw them over a year ago. I was lucky to find a set for sale brand new on eBay. My suggestion is to keep checking back in w/ k2motor and check on ebay frequently. A set should turn up hopefully, but like I said before, these things are super rare, so if you find a set, jump on em.

OK guys, so I put everything back together and somethings I didn't tell everyone is that I took the wheels apart and painted the windows Black, and I also picked up a set of LS400 front Brake Calipers (which I also painted black)

Here is it all put back together. What do you all think?

Hey guys, I haven't been on here in a long while, and have a couple updates.

I dunno if you guys saw, but my car was recently in US-VIP Magazine from USDM-Freax.

Since then, the car is undergoing some changes.

First, I will be changing my wheels yet again (the Leons will be up for sale within the next month) and went for Luxury Abstract Madors.

Also, I am rewrapping my interior and here is a sneak peak at the rear seats currently in the works:

will update you as it gets closer to completion.

Interior is very unique! I've only seen that style on a couple VIP cars. Good job
