vip or not

do you guys consider this vip or tacky/played out, I've heard mixed reviews so decided to post it here. I am considering it for 94 g50 w/president conversion. let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Depends on the style. Somelook alright while others don't flow well with the car at all. but if you want to do it then go for it. If you like it then that is what matters.

really depends, you need to find one that flows with the car. i will say the "stick on" ones are cheap and tacky and should go on it. as for y33flavors car, its one of my favorite vip cars period stateside and i think the vent makes me like it more.

i think the question is in regards to vents, not jermaine's car.

i say vents are cool if they flow with your car and are well executed but they are not an automatic success.

stick on is NOT well executed.

the question does only pertain to the vents. I think the car frickin sick. but Im just curious as to whether the vents detract from the cars overall appearance. Personally, I like how it flows, but some people don't which was why I posted to ask... Thanks for the help guys, I might have to find someone with photoshop skills to see if it flow as nice on my car.

Thanks again everybody.

in regards to vents being tacky OR vip, a lot of us feel like it's both not one or the other. however, this does not apply to every vent application. i'm guessing you've been reading posts about how the modern style of japanese vip isn't for everybody and vents are something often mentioned. i'm going to go out on a limb and speak for those of that opinion and say it's not vents that are tacky, it's the overuse and poor execution of them. i'm sure we've all seen some nice vents and i was a big fan when i started noticing them (some point between the m3 style jp fenders and the "let's put a lot of horribly akward vents that look like they were cut with a blind kid's preschool scissors on every f**kin panel of the car" trends) but too much is too much (for some).

cliffs: they are definitely "vip", but being "vip" doesn't automatically mean they look good.

i say move on - its been done already lol, i think the g50 looks odd because they look big, if he painted the outer, it would compliment the color and draw more attention to the line of the car and not the vent itself

Like everything in VIP its about the execution and the craftsmanship. It needs to flow and match the execution of the car. Oh, and stick on vents are ghey and have NO craftsmanship so they are OUT!
I have some vents in the works right now.

thanks guys, even though it has already been done, I am still considering it because I do like how the vents look, as for that specific vent, I do agree with 33 that the vent is a little too big for that fender, maybe I'll try to find something smaller. I'll update if I decide to continue with this option.

Thanks for the picture Blk98

Cadillac vents could work based on size? Plus they have a more squared off look that could flow with the president.
