4.5VK to 5.6VK and update on the build

well... where to start. I messed around with this a bit to see what is up before I tackle putting it into my car. 

As many of you know I was vip'n the car, then going drift doing a motor swap ect.. Well My friend came over to check out the car cause he is my man for bodywork. He has heard about the car but first time seeing it. After much hmming and huhing we came up with this idea. Finish where I was going with the F50 in the vip route and pic up the salvage titled m45 and put my drift efforts into that. Reason being:

He is going to radius my fenders in a very unique way that he has done before. I like camber on vip, but sometimes it ruins a ride. It is not for me since I like to keep most my cars as dd as possible if I so choose to do so. A local guy told me he has a 06 front end for sale. and has been sitting on it for some time. Which sucks cause I told Blitz i wanted the 02 bumper he had. which maybe I can still make it work?? grr.. Any who, radius rear fenders, keeping stock body line with out cutting into door is fun! 

Since my buddy is a master body fab worker for restoration and i have production bodywork experience we are going to tackle the car like no other! Suicide rear doors with the rear door handles moved forward and flipped, (so the right door handle becomes the left, and left be comes right.) This way it is more symmetrical. 

Since I have now picked up a business partner to do plastic chroming. We are going to be adding a lot of new vip stuff to a long awaited Monkey Works Line of products. Since F50s have to buy the chrome door molding for well over 500 dollars some times we can now chrome your oem pieces, black chrome or regular, and will be doing my mirrors to add more of a Presidential look. and black chroming some other things.. We can do interior plastics as well as metal. Also well experienced in carbon vac forming and true dry carbon. 

Anyone know of F50 President hoods for sale, so i can make a carbon copy? Since they are made of aluminum carbon is lighter haha..

Sorry got off topic on my own post, but back to the VK56 conversion

The vk56 will work in your q45, but the q45 transmission will not work. The starter is on the side of the motor on the vk45, and on top in the valley between the heads on the 56. I guess will not be a huge issue since you probably can use a 2wd titan transmission bell housing, or the whole trans, which will rid of your tip tronic shift.

I will not be using the two VKs i have since I am not going to be drifting this car. and with the m45 I will be doing a rb25 swap.

haha yeah i am trying to find time! I do not work a 9to5 so kinda helps but. the s14 project i had to give to a fabricator to finish since i dont have that much time.

Damicci come on man! give me some love haha. I will get some pics. I am redoing the headliner the glue i bought the super80 from 3m, failed me!! Which is a first time ever. I am actually going to my supplier since it was out of date. The material fell and the pillars became unformed. Really not happy. But I will post pics of the new material I got, Since I can't reuse the material i put on. 400 dollars down the drain and all my time Thanks! :(

Nonono that was a Good FFUUUUUUU. I wouldn't mind picking up a salvaged M to just play around with.

Been looking into a 56 swap and after sitting around with my Buddies (Master techs) at Infinti they don't think the Titan tranny will work but we may be able to do an adaptor plate to the Stock Y33 or maybe some modding to the F50's trans.  Of course this is in a Y33 and I think you were trying to do it in another model Q right?
 
How much you trying to sell the 56 motor for?

Yeah, I was going to put it in my 02 f50. they do make adapter plates for that motor to fit vg30 trans, get a automatic one if you want to keep it auto. :) as for selling.. not sure how much really.

Yeah, simplest way to do it! especially since your car is older a bit easier to do. If you do want a VK56.. maybe we can work something out. Both I have are used, and one has a burnt valve so i am told. and the other has blow by.. but I didn't care cause rebuilds are no thing, and should be done to all used motors if you are going to be putting into the car. Why put something in with un known history for it to blow up 2 weeks after putting it in.. i say its peace of mind :D

Is the 06 front end still for sale? What is he asking for it?

As for the VLSD, the F50 and Y34 never came with one. They relied on the electronics to keep the car stable.  I've looked at all the service manuals and ended up getting one installed that was from an automatic 350Z.

oh i see! interesting, also makes sense. The front is no longer for sale sorry i bought it lol

What are the front end worth and what parts are needed/included to do the conversion? I just mainly like the grille. 

For the diffs, I currently have a 2.79, 3.133, 3.3 and 3.6 that I can play with.

And where abouts are you located? I'm in Abbotsford, about an hour east of Vancouver BC.

oh cool. i am in port orchard about an hour or so from seattle. kind of across it.

to do the front end, you are lookin about little over 2g's for hood grills since there is one piece that goes on the hood, and the main grill, and the bumper. no headlights in that price.. :( the grill is pricey!!!

I might do it if I can still use the headlights and get the bumper modified.

first link you need: 1, 15, 2,  you will need a bumper for sure.. cause it is way different.

OH sick you picked up an 06 front end!  

Btw Marksport was the 350Z auto diff bolt in?  Makes me wish I kept my 150 shot Nitrous Express wet kit lol

You need to change the differential input flange to the F50 with 6 bolt, as the Z33 uses a 4 bolt. I'm going to try the 350Z manual with a 3.6 gearing.

Not sure how I'd be able to keep it street legal with a manual transmission on any of my cars. I do have a set of paddle shifters that I'm going to try to install tho. And what are you asking for the 5.6? I don't have a need for one, just want to take one apart to photograph and document a 4.5 and 5.6 comparison like I did before with the VH and VK.

Damn man, sound good. I especially like the attention to detail in regards to the phantom doors. THIS is gona be sick.
