How to remove the shift knob thing?... the thing with the overdrive button
I got it loose, it turns a little bit but can't get it OUT

yeah, not sure about that. but i thought it was a 1 piece that connects all the way to the steering colum. asy yoshi... i think he did that mod...

yeah, not sure about that. but i thought it was a 1 piece that connects all the way to the steering colum. asy yoshi... i think he did that mod...

Take off the steering column bezel, after that it should just be one bolt at the base of the shift lever.. i had to replace mine cause the OD button was in-op. Be careful though cause there is a spring and if you're not careful when u get that bolt off proceed to take the shift lever off it might shoot out :biggthumpup:.

Sent you a PM on this one......I cut off the Plastic (can't twist off), relocated the Overdrive, had Marshall weld the "threads" that came with the Shifter and he added some shrink wrap to the exposed metal...........Viola!

The best thing about it all........I can always replace with another the knob design as long as the threads are the same.

Yes its my burple shifter....down the road I want to get my hands on a different shifter and possibily getting an LED installed on the bottom to light it up.
