LBJ to Miami - what are your opinions?

I know Cavs owner is cursing and wishing bad karma on LBJ and his Miami team b/c of his decision last night.  I know a lot of members here are from CA and are big Lakers fan and wanted to inform you guys that you all should scoot on over and make room for the Cleveland fans!

Since everybody knows I'm a huge laker fan, I've been catchin alot of talk about this. Everybody saying "Miami" and all that to me. It's not a [COLOR=#dbdbdb][FONT=Verdana]guaranteed [/FONT][/COLOR][FONT=Arial][/FONT]
win! It's a helluva start though. The NBA season is jus way too LONG!!!!!! w/ injuries and what not also those 3 don't make up the whole team. Boston had a full roster of great players and still couldn't take the lakers. The only cats that should be worried is all them teams in the East conference teams. Lakers won't have to worry about them until/if they get to the finals again. So I'm ok w/ it. I'll jus wait for all the highlight footage to come HA!
 
You can't hate on LJ though, he took a pay cut to go to a team where he's not the star. Shows how bad he really wants that ring! Probably to shut all that talk about not being great if you don't have that ring. 
But you know, once he gets his ring, that dumb talk about he can't do it w/o wade will start. The media is so lame -_-
 
Should be intresting to see how or if these cats share the ball......

My opinion pretty much shows my age in regards to basketball.  I remember growing up and watching Bird and the Celtics just own Magic and the Lakers.  I remember the Lakers just sticking it out and working "together" to finally beat the Celtics.  Same thing with Jordan, I remember when the Pistons would just own the Bulls.  Bulls team never really changed much after that, Jordan just became the man and led / carried the Bulls to 6 championships.  Same thing with Duncan and the Spurs.  I'll even put our beloved Kobe on this list.  Someone who was scorned by media / fans but stuck thru it and came back to win his own 2.  

I don't blame Lebron in this modern day NBA to go form a "Super Friends" in Miami.  Thats good hes taking less money.  I respect him for that. I just enjoyed the storied Franchises that with legends running their team and that legend carrying them because he wanted it so bad.  That was what made basketball great for me.  To watch these Legends do what they needed to do to win their ring for them, their team, and their city.

I still think that the Heat still have a long way to go, like Oscar said.  It's 5on5, not 3on5.  

Lets just say each of these 3 score 20pts each avg, someone else is gonna need to score the rest.  60 pts won't beat a solid Celtics / Magic / Lakers / Thunder / Nuggets team

DIE LEBRON DIE!!

I was pissed.  Even the video game NBA 2k10 makes mention of the 2010 free agency class and how Lebron might come to NY when you play the Knicks vs. Cavs in NY.  He lead us on for years, buying out all the hot dog stands for the fans in NY before he arrived to town, always wearing Yankee hats, etc.  It's alright, Carmello is from NY and he didn't sign that extension with the Nuggets for a reason.  Hes coming here.

LeBron is a great player.  So is Wade and Bosh.  They are not 1 dimensional.  They can all play multiple positions, handle the rock, post up and shoot from anywhere on the court.  They are all also willing to pass the ball which is why this will work.

The Cavs are not a playoff team without LeBron.  66 wins to 24 without him.  The Heat are a playoff team with Just wade and a bunch of scrubs.  These guys that they are adding are 25 and 26 years old.  Its not like the Celtics where the big 3 were all out of their prime in their early 30s.  These guys can all play 40 minutes a night if needed.  I say they win the eastern conferance this year.  I won't jump the bandwagon and say they win the title because they only have 4 players.  I want to see what big name veteran signs for the minimum contract to have a chance for a ring

It may work for a season or two but then once wade or bron  start getting all the love somebody gonna get jelly and the in team hating gonna start,  it was ok with the 3 in Boston because they got together towards the end of their careers... but this is just my opinion

All I know is the Heat are going to be a tough team to beat in NBA2k11.

I will say though, there's been a few times that LJ has had his way w/ me on 2K10 :pat:

LBJ is a beast in 2k10 though haha. 

i can guarantee you the heat wont win a championship, as long as kobe and pau are playing together.  Most championship teams have those "role players" i.e robert horry , D. fish, Ron harper etc. who on the heat can be that guy? they just got rid of beasley, and offered mike miller a contract. now they have to pick up little scrubs and sign there rookies. This happened with the lakers in 04 when they had an all-star team, they made it to the finals but they didnt all like eachother cause of there egos. But well have to wait and see. LAKERS FOR THE 3PEAT

The Lakers were old though.  Malone and Payton were too old then to make a difference in the series.  Shaq/Kobe Bickering played a role too but both Shaq and Kobe need the ball every single play and they dont look to pass much.  Lebron will feed those guys the ball and still put up numbers because he himself will get better looks and already shoots a high percentage.

Chalmers is a clutch role player.  He can shoot 3s and defend.  He won the NCAA championship off of a buzzer beater and has a couple game winners since hes been in the league.  I see him stepping up big time.  If they can sign Mike Miller that will be big since hes the ideal role player.  He does a little of everything.

Lebron and DWade are 2 of the best defenders the game has so don't look at this as strictly from an offensive perspective.

I sound like a bandwagon heat fan but I am a fan of good basketball.  If anything, I am still heartbroken that Lebron didnt come here

All this talk about what is going to happen is fuckery! Wait tell the season starts to decide what's gonna happen! These 3 will make some great highlight reels no doubt but you still can never count out all the other teams which are sure to contend and whatever happens in the east  and besides the west still has the stronger teams in the NBA

yeah during the regular season lebron can do whatever he wants but in the playoffs he isnt that great. they can probably challenge the bulls regular season record. +1 well wait till the season starts 4 months from now. 

btw.. look for the lakers to make a big move, last i heard is that there trying to get hedo and derozan for sasha, and luke. just to get rid of hedos contract. may be a rumor but we'll see.

Western Conference still have better teams than Eastern.  All the stars from the eastern conference stayed in the East.

That will be big if they do.  But like you guys mentioned, its all about the chemistry.  Hedo may be better but doesnt mean hes a better fit.   Hedo is going nuts in Toronto, always getting caught missing practice cause he was out at the club.  Imagine in LA :smiley-rofl:

Edit: I stand corrected, he signed for $110 mil as well as Bosh.  Only D.Wade signed for $107 mil.  He took less money since players returning to their teams with as many years experience as he has, are eligible for a 6 year $120mil deal.
