new project VIP R33 skyline

hello people,
 
im new here so i thought i would post up a thread on what my plans are for my VIP project.
 
after going to modified live and seeing a blacked out VIP lex, it made me want to go down this route but with a differance.
i own an r33 skyline and i have looked all over the internet and cant find anyone that has used this as a base for a VIP syle car, this works out well for me as i like a challenge and would get to stand out from all the usual drift/time attack themes usually done with these cars

i appriciate it isnt quite VIP at the moment and it may not be to many peoples liking but ay we are all different in this world so heres to my effort to produce a VIP hot import
 
IDEARS
well at the moment the liner is rollin on 19" staggered black bbs, which to me is a good start although they are tucked in so i think i need to grab some spacers to push them out and then stretch the tyres. the dishes will also be painted white.
 
although lowered the r33 needs some coilovers to get it sitting just above the ground (i want to roll the arches and with the tyres stretched i want the lip on the arch to basically sit behind the lip of the wheel on the rears)
 
the front bumper is abit too busy and i think needs something a little more subtle to carry the look off.
 
the spoiler is far too large to work with this project so i will be changing this to a boot lip spoiler and roof extension spoiler.
 
i think these are the main points of the exterior apart from one these mods are carried out i was thinking about giving the liner a wrapping the top half of the car and mirrors satin black.
 
im still toying with what to do exactly with the inside of the car apart from tints, curtains, and colour coded dash and leather but i think i have plently to get on with until then..... LOL

welcome over. it sounds like a good plan so far, i would change the whole body kit or at least the sides while your at it

don't waste your time or money.  keep this as it is and get yourself a different platform.  The R33 looks sweet but it is NOT a VIP car at all.

Yea your plan doesn't sound to bad it seems like you have a good idea of what needs to be done in this new territory. It's been so long since I've really looked at skylines but is that a 2wd rb25?

Fenders are the easy pick-up cue.  GT-R has wider flares.

That R33 looks good as is.  I agree on the pick up another chassis comment and go from there.  Might as well have some low/slow and some speed.

just slam the shit out of it on flush wheels...heres my r32 i guess u could consider it vip "styled" but thats how all my cars are.

Ahhh your right I remember now. I still have some r32 gtrs sitting in my storage you'd think I'd remember they all "bulge".

I think the others have covered it, but flush fitment and no vents is not the way to turn a sports car into a vip car.
 
I see what you are thinking with the pic of that benz, but you gotta remember thats a luxury car that has had sporty touches put on it. Do the same to a sports car and you will be left with... a sports car. 
 
In order to get this Skyline looking remotely vip, you will need to go for the classic vip look. Subtle, aimgain/bold world look bodykit (or incorporate a benz bumper somehow), big face silver/chrome wheels, lots of chrome accents, interior bling etc... Basically how the Thai guys are making their Civics look like they are straight outta vipstyle magazine. The newer sporty vip trend will not get you the 'wow thats vip' look you are after.

Nice wheels! Good luck trying to pull this off though. 
 
You could do it with a Y 33 though! lol

And yea that r32 is pretty damd good looking like that. I rarely rarely see people poking or pushing flush on any skyline. But to op I say hell go with the vip for your skyline but your going to need more than rims and a different kit. To me a huge part of vip is the interior so if you were to plush it up on the inside that would be huge. By that I just mean some nice stitching, leather, maybe restyle the dash in general, and so on. Also don't know about your car but I sat in an r33 or two and I would certainly change out the padding in the seats or get new ones entirely but that's just me. As for the exterior you would have to do huge changes trunk lip spoiler, roof spoiler, smooth out the sides with different or custom skirts, make the front and rear bumper a lot fuller, open up the grill, give the whole thing a black paintjob, and then finally top it off with some fuller face 5 spoke wheels. And those are some of my ideas just off the top of my head if you wanted to go full throttle on this.

Your skyline is really sporty, it's going to take a lot of time and work to make it VIP.  Wheels would be a start, but BBS won't cut it, still sporty.  That bodykit needs to be changed out as well.
