Hello, I have been reading up on some transmission issues with the y34. Anyone have first-hand experience and can expand on this? Thanks,
I've never heard of trans issues with these cars, just oil burning, and bad fuel gauge. I've only had mine a few months, but no oil burning, although it did have a bad fuel gauge.
I purchased mine a few months ago aswell. The transmission is great, shifts great no slips, responsive and long legs for freeway travel. Im guessing if you dont abuse it, you shouldnt have anything to worry about.

^ Hi, I don't have a y34.. but I have read some owners having issues with the transmission such as slipping, sluggish, etc.
Go and grab yourself one.. you wont be dissapointed =)

no problems with my car , i know a buddy with over 150K in his with no tranny problems period ... BTW Y34 619 where did you get that tray table from ..:biggthumpup:
seems like a lot of nissans have that fuel gauge issue.

I've had mine for awhile now too. Only problem I've had is the exhaust manifold needed to be changed and my driver seat rail needed to be replaced! The dealer wanted $1400.00 for the exhaust and $1000.00 for the rail! I was like screw that! I'll just ask my buddy if he can make me a custom one! But yeah, other than that! This bad boy is FUN to drive! Can't wait until I start modding it! But first I have to finish up the Lexus! Then it's on and cracking!:biggthumpup:

It's definitely a "newer" car, more updated interior and exterior, much more powerful, but less luxurious. It's much sportier than the Y33 which is a true luxury car. IMO.
Never owned a Y33 and I really didn't like how the M45 looked at first but once I drove it I was instinctively in love! It is much more sportier than luxurious for sure. My lady and I were looking for something new! And sure enough we found our M45!

all i can say is i wasn't fully turned onto the Y34 til i saw one in Japan(black M45) slammed with deep polished/black SP1's and a killer dual same side exhaust. i was sold!
