Re: YOu guys think 18's are to small 4 a Y33?????hhmmmm
no need to go 35 series for 18" tires. You will definitely want to go with 40 series for 18" tires, You'll get a nice stretch and will help fill up the gap a bit more, with a nice stretch your tires will not look thick at all.
personally IMO, the benefits to 18" is for added cushion and rubber, take adavantage of it. No use in goin 18" and still using 35 series tires.
IMO 18" wheels are fine as long as you go DEEP. Make sure it has a deep, drowning lip. A deep lip gives it depth, thickness and more girth. It makes a huge visual difference.

Re: YOu guys think 18's are to small 4 a Y33?????hhmmmm
I had 35 series tyres on the 18s on my Y32 and i can tell you its NOT good. considering we share much of the same chassis, i can confidently say the following:
1. the overall wheel diameter will be too small. This means that your car will ride lower than it did on your current wheels, for the same drop.
2. if you want a mild stretch on those tyres you wont find the right load rating on 35 series tyres (esp. considering your car is heavier than mine). You may not care at first, but the more you think about it, the more it bugs you (i was stressing every time i drove anywhere)
3. Related to point 1: you will need to lower it ALOT to close the fender gap with 35 series tyres. Combine that with the lower chassis height and you will have at most 1" clearance underneath. That is kinda debilitating ;)
The wheels should be nice, look at dorimon, i believe he has similar fitments. Just make sure you go to 40 series tyres. On mine the 18s ride real smooth and since i went up a size in tyres i have no stresses about potholes or bad roads!

Re: YOu guys think 18's are to small 4 a Y33?????hhmmmm
but be careful, your goin from 20" to 18" and that may not float your boat once all is done and finished.

Thanks for all the info so far..So if I go 18's go with a 40 series tire right to keep the ride
quality nice. When the wheel is deep its hard to tell an 18 - less aggressive 19...I would rather
go 19's but these 18" wheels I have seen I think will look nice....

Thats a nice example of radiused fenders that one-Ton mentioned...
even with 18s they raised the rear arches so they are the same height as the fronts. Looks fricken badass but thats a whole other ball-game to what you are considering. He has semi-blister with 18x12 on the rear...

Yes, super hot Y33 right there... but honestly, if you're thinking about riding low enough to make these look proper, they better be aggressively sized... especially on coils, you're going to have fun driving 24/7 at that height!
ps: I'm on coils too, just no $$$ for wheels for my car yet (19's though!)

Hmmmm... for that much money, you might want to hold out for some 19s... the 18s can definitely look cool, as demonstrated by that black Y33, but you gotta go quite low, and actually, from a side profile, they will still look a little small. 3/4 angle looks bad ass though. But 19s would be a good match if you aren't planning on sliggity slamming as much as the black car.
