Too low ET in the rear. What to do? Wheels sticking out.

Ok, here comes trouble..

Just got some used wheels. Weds Kranze Bazreia 9x20 et:25, 10x20 et:06 The front fits perfectly. No need of spacers or anything. And i got alot of adjusting height in the front so i dont think front will be of any major isue.

BUT the rear are way to low ET. The guy said +8 but its actually +6. Well not big of a difference, but they are sticking out about 25mm so i cant just roll the fenders.

I dont know what to do. I'm not really into welding wider fenders on and get the them painted etc. Its a huge job and also not cheap.

I wrote an email to Weds i Japan to hear the price on smaller outer rim edges. Its a 3 piece wheel so it can be done, though i dont think thats cheap either to get them from japan. They are 101mm now and i can see that i can buy a 89mm Lip.

The fronts have 76mm lip. I think it looks better with more lip and wider wheels in the back so i dont want to get 76mm lips for the rears if i can get away with the 89mm lips and roll the fenders.

it looks perfect!!! put some tires on them first they will fit fine with some camber and some fender work!

That's not bad looking at all. See if you can get someone to pull your rear 
fenders, then add more camber in the rear. What size tire are you going to 
run? I would test fit and go from there.

Ok you sound pretty convinced that they will fit :-) I like that.
 
Well it needs some work. My friend have a fender roller so that cool. I just dont want to pull it that much so i ruin the fenders so they will rust from inside because of flatten the steel and the paint to crack. I mean, this is not a slight pull. Its mega pull if you ask me?
 
I would like to get the camper as standard as possible due to inner tire wear, but i can see that it will help alot to adjust it. its all standard now.
 
I was thinking on Nangkang NS2, 245 or maybe 255/30-20 for the rears? How does that sound? Will they rub too much with 255?
 
The front will be 225/30-20 i think. Dont want them to rub while turning.

i think with a stretched tire and once you actually put them on the car it should fit with just a fender roll.. once the car is off the jack you will get natural camber from being low and it should tuck just fine. well atleast thats how mine was

^^^That fitment isnt too crazy. I am running 20X9 and 20X11 on my LS430 with 255/35 on the rear. I rolled the lip on the fender only slightly (I am going to use my buddies fender roller this weekend) and they dont really rub at all. All my control arms are stock as well. I think that if you go and get the tires mounted/stetched and get the car back on the ground you will be surprised by how well they fit. 
 
I would say you wont need much fender modification at all.

On the pictures the jack is out and the wheels are set on some pieces of wood. I wanted to see how it would kindda look like when the tyres are on and the car on the ground. So no lifting jack on the pictures.
 
I can of'course lower the car more in the rear, but i will see whats needed when i get some tyres. But will 255 in the rears rub too much you think?
 
But bWiLKINS, waht ET is your 11x20 wheel? Sounds pretty mean. Got any pictures? ;-)

My rears are +30 offset but that extra width puts them in roughly the same boat as you. With 255's I dont think you are going to rub very much at all, you might even be able to step down to a 245/35 since your rims are only 10" wide.

my opinion is you need to lower the car more before you go any further. that much gap on 20s means you are very high. you need to be at least dead even with the rim, if not tucking for 20s, otherwise it's gonna look donked out. doing so will increase the camber and change up the fitment completely. i think you should be able to pull this off with camber and a nice stretch (245/30 would be my starting point), no pull.

LS430 is a much bigger car. Looks nice but not as aggressive as i thought. When i look at my rear wheel on the car it looks pretty aggressive. Damn i hope i can fit them in there.

I want to keep the same  wheel diameter so i cant put 255/35 on there. It has to be 255/30 to fit. Ls430 has bigger diameter.

245/30 in the rear is perfect that's what I got and 225/35 in the front all nankangs

Just do it and don't worry about camber wear, flip your tires every 6 months and you'll get good life out of your tires. Can't wait to see it completed.

Sounds good boys. I will go and order the tires. I think i will be on the "safer side" and order 245/30 for the rears. But 225/35 will be way too big. Its gonna be 225/30 to match the original tire diameter. I have a first gen LS400.

Im getting more and more convinced that these wheels gonna fit :-) I have a BC racing Coilover suspension so i will get the car more lowered if neccesary. But at the winter wheels right now im scraping a bit when i go over some driveways etc. so have to diagonal to pass.

Ps. I dont know if the Nankangs can be flipped. Theres usually marked "in" and "out" on the tyres.

I had a 1st gen ls4, now a GS but i have a few sets of 20s with my 10s im running 245/30 and 10.5s 255/30s my 225/35 on a 20x9 dont look tall at all but if you got the balls, run 225/30s. nankang is flippable tires its directionals hope this helps

10j +6 is 11mm MORE aggressive than your 11j +30.

this will be a pain to fit properly, but if done right should look sweeeeet

Just start factoring tyre wear into your car budget. When you work out how much you are spending on the car vs the miles you put on the car, you will realise that even extremely cambered cars spend more on fuel than they do on tires.
 
Having said that, putting lots of camber on the front will kill tires quicker than the rear due to the changing geometry as you turn etc. Lots of camber on the rear is fine if you have the toe set correctly...
I had between 6-7 degrees of camber on the rear of my car and i got over a year and 10,000km before the tires were low enough to get me fined (probably still had a few thousand left in them but didnt want to get a fine for the camber wear)
 
Thats 200 Euro worth of tyres for 10,000kms. I know you guys get ripped off for fuel in Europe, so if you were getting 10km per Liter of fuel (good average), you would have probably spent 1500Euro on petrol in the same time. Doesnt look so expensive anymore does it?

that will fit great once you have a tire, add light camber and maybe Slight pull ...

What do you mean if i have the balls? Will it be too low with only 225/30 ? Its just that my original tyre is 205/65-15 so to keep the wheel diameter it has to be 225/30. Then its 0,69% smaller than original. If its 225/35 the tyre gets 2,78% bigger. Bigger means a slower car and bigger chance for tyre rubbing?? Specially in the front where the wheels are turning.
 
Dominik, yeah we have crazy prices on fuel over here. And the LS does drink some fuel. But with alot of camber, it will be drinking even more.
 
This car was ment to be my daily driver for the family but i got these wheels for at nice price and took the chance. Hehe now i pay the extra for mega fender rollin and camber adjustment, even more bad fuel economy, tyre wear and i dont get that much comfort if the wheel cant move up and down very much.

should be fine with a slight roll and minor pull maybe...run a small tire 235/35's in back and you should need minor roll/pull. it will camber in as said before.

like what i told u on your clublexus thread. you will need a pull.

Lower it and take it from there.  You can achieve a slight pull with a fender roller without doing damage but that should be your last resort.  Stretch some tires, mess with the camber settings and roll the fenders.

Passing on what oneton showed me a long time ago, you can shave a couple mm off the wheel mounting pad and the brake rotor hats to bring the wheels in 4mm.

AME_VIP, that sounds interesting. Do you have some more info on that? Maybe a link with pictures. I guess i need to go to some prof shop to get the brakes and wheel mounting pad. It has to be 100% straight.

just ordered Nangkang NS2, 225/30-20 and 245/30-20 so lets see how it goes.

Just got a mail back from Weds. They do not sell lips seperatelly. Wtf???!!! I need two front lips because they have some curbs. I hope someone here in Denmark can repair them.

We could have told you that... none of the wheel manufacturers sell parts on their own. Repairing lips is not that difficult though; should be a few places that can do it for you

i have seen bbs lips for sale and just thought that if i buy 3 piece wheels i can always get new lips. why else should the wheels be made in 3 pieces? And well i dont see why the companys want sell lips and earn money and they're wheels will still be on the road for others to see.

Sorry I don't have pics.  Depending on the car and the wheel you may be able to shave more material and still maintain structural integrity.  Most machine shops should be able to remove the material for you.

3 piece for the variety of disc heights (for brake clearance), lip sizes and offsets down to the mm.  Yes most manufacturers will not sell lips only.  I speculate it is because they are concerned about being liability and also want to focus on selling complete made to order wheels instead.

They said its because of guarantee and the wheels have to be put together by a professional. No way im paying that much to send the wheels to japan to pay alot for a repair.
 
But imo it would be better to change the lip instead of getting a repair. A new lip should be more safe than a welded and bended lip after hitting a curb.
 
I know its common here in Denmark and Germany to buy BBS lips and make your BBS wheels wider or just to install new lips.

Ok here comes the update :-)
Finally got the fenders rolled and got my brother to fit the tyres so we started to roll the fenders. Damn what a work. We got them 20mm out but the paint cracked though we warmed it up. But hey 20mm is not a little roll So i need to get my rears painted. The fronts were rolled 6mm each. The plastic inner fender is scratching against the tyres so i need to get that fixed somehow soon.

nice update! the LS is coming along great! i suggest cambering the rears a bit and lowering it a bit!

Thanks alot. Camber haven't been touched yet. The bolts are very rusty, so i might buy new adjustment bolts before braking the old ones. I have to drive this car on a daily basis so i cant do without the car for some days/weeks.
 
Im thinking of lowering it some more in the back maybe, but i would so much like to have some air sus, cause the car is very low now and hard to drive around in the streets without scraping all the time.

Definitely looking good man. I love the stretch/poked look. From looking at the pics in the beginning of the thread I didn't think it would turn out as aggressive as it did but I like it. Nice wheels too...I've always been a sucker for Weds.
