#336560any idea why ecu wouldn't put out +12v to the fuel pump relay? g50
The ecu in my 96 g50 isn't sending a +12v signal when the car is running to the fuel pump relay (pink wire w/ a black stripe). thoughts? for now i jumped the relay which works fine other than i now have power to my fuel pump whenever the key is in the ON position. my friend had the same problem with his 240sx a few years ago and this is what he did so the car would run.i have continuity in that wire from front to back, not sure what the deal is.
this all stemmed from a bad fuel pump which was pulling too much current and broke a solder in my fpcm. i have since re-soldered and replaced the fuel pump with a new one. the car ran fine for a little over a week and until last weekend the fuel pump sometimes wouldn't get power when trying to start. when it wouldn't start, if i left the key in ON the message center would say "LOW FUEL" when i'd have like half a tank. the low fuel indicator has never worked since i bought it, only the level indicator.
