Lowering and Alignment

I'm just wondering if it will be necessary to get an alignment after installing and lowering my new coilovers? I can't image it would mess up my alignment but I'm no mechanic so I don't know

yes, you should do it.

what my question is for experienced guys here: can alignment be made on a car with none original wheel specs (lower offsets then original) and different wheel width. I was in one shop the other day and they told me I need to put original wheels and then do the alignment. Also they need to take my front bumper off to do it, because lasers in the front are going straight into the bumper.
I dont like it much !! 

Any thoughts??

Thanks. Another reason I ask is because last time I tried to get a lowered vehicle aligned I was told that it would need to be raised up to get it aligned properly. Not sure why

you need to get an alignment at your ride height, otherwise whats the point of alignment if you change height later, specs will change also !!!

that's what I thought lol. I'll hit up meineke after lowering it

toe eats tire faster than camber...make sure your toe is on point...VIP favors some camber...

If I go to a normal shop will they be able to leave a little camber and align everything else?

i usually eyeball the alignment when installing new coilovers. after a couple weeks, once the suspension has settled, i take it in to get aligned. not every shop will align a lowered car and the ones that do seem to have a hard time understanding what i'm telling them i want.
 
i'll most likely start aligning my own cars soon enough. you can diy it with the right knowledge and equipment (most of which can be made).

lol wrd. most of the guys doing alignments are techs and just follow what the screen tells them.

Sears wouldn't align my car even though I had stock wheels on. I'm going to try 
another place soon. They did however give me my current specs and wow...I 
really need one.

Where does everybody in SD go to get their cars aligned?

get it done by a shop that installs coilovers most times theyll be abke to do it lowered

any decent performance shop (and hell, most half-decent normal ones) will be able to at least get your toe and camber sorted out.

Well i dont know bout everyone but at my old High School but you gotta do it yourself hahahaa

VIP guys would probably need a small shop to get their specific specs they want... not at sears or firestone, etc.

firestone's been doing my custom specs for the past 2 years o.O lol
