Hey club lexus. Just wanna introduce myself to VIPSTYLECARS and post of pics of the recent polishing job i've done with a set of Fabulous Profound.!
One messed up set of Profounds. Got them for a good deal. Decided to just DIY and refinish it myself. Started with 220 grid to 320, 400, then wetsand 600, 800, 1000, 1500, 2000 and finished with the mag polish.
LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK! :D

I like the 1000 grit look lol. Good job though, you made them look like totally new rims. People who consider knockoff rims or settle for cheap stuff should use this as inspiration. A little elbow grease and you can have some nice wheels for a fraction of the price.

x2. The way the spokes curve out must have made it even more difficult.

Exactly what I want to do with my DH's over the winter. You've given me inspiration.
I need to strip my chrome off first though. The DH faces are much different though and
i'll probably have to take mine apart. Great job btw!

Im impressed! That looked like a lot of work but the finished product is definately worth it, they look 1000x better. I need to do this to the inner barrels of mine just to make them look nicer haha.

Pics of them on?..After 1000 grit or 1500 grit I used a drill and a buffing wheel from Home Depot and a polishing rouge and that really shined my weds up. Looks good. I hear you can use steel wool before the polishing to help make it easier too. Lets see them on the ride.

Took me about 4 hours to grind down the curbs smooth and polish. Took my time though.

I like doing it by hand with a micro fiber because i can get it more shiny that way. I tried the drill. does not come out as nice IMO. Soon enough when the other 3 are done hahaha :pat:

nice! reminds me of doing mine.. that was such a pain too. I used the polishing wheel and the rouge then went over it by hand to get swirls out.. i hate getting around the spokes and mine are even harder to do.. in fact i should do it over again.. thanks for the awesome thread!

I knocked down my deep curbs with a 4" grinder and a 80 grit layered sanding disk for $5 at the Depot...It took seconds..then went with a hand sanding, buffing wheel and rouge then mothers.
