[ASK] wheels fitment question (need pro advice)
hey guys, i want to do wheels calculation for my ride,
this Mercedes W211
using
Vellano
20x9 offset +24
20x11 offset +24
this is what the owner said i don't know if it's right or not
i got this picture from a website,
if i calculate it right the rear got 4.1" lip with this setup and 3.1" for the front,
if you guys look from that picture, can i go like 5" lip for the rear +1" or 4.5" lip?
(without widebody) but not with 11 width but with 10.5 or 10
like these
20x10.5 offset +8 (w/ 4.5"lip) offset -5 (w/ 5"lip)
20x10 offset +1 (w/ 4.5"lip) offset -11 (w/ 5"lip)
which one should i choose, or you guys have other size recommendation for me? any opinion are very much welcome
i'm looking for this kind of look

IF you are poking, you can go a little more aggressive but the amount of lip you get depends on the wheels. Certain wheels give off more than others. Personally, I think poking when parked sucks. You need to drive pretty high

:biggthumpup::biggthumpup:
I wouldn't go so far as to say sucks
I would jus say that I prefer to ride as low as I can w/ an agressive stance VS riding around high and then parking at a aggressive stance.
That's the homies CC posted and his ride height to me is pretty acceptable to me even though it's not super low. I can live w/ that hahaha!
But mayne riding around low is FUN!!!! at times! LOL! :saiyancrunks:
sorry I'm no help lol

Sucks because with 3-4mm less aggressive wheels, you can drive how ever low you want. You can still drive sort of low while poking but you need to run crazy tires stretches that don't last on heavy luxury sedans like they would on lighter vw's.

did i miss something or has platform not even been mention? ride height? type of suspension?

i might use air suspension, ride height watever height that looks good and driveable

that really doesn't help the cause. you can't get that fitment without air, and you can't drive like that with air. height affects camber which determines width/offest. w/o platform there's no tellin. please provide the relevant details for any hope of help.

i agree with widebody_Q point of view, like he said less aggresive than that VW, still can drive low, and don't have to go with crazy tires stretches..
any suggestion on the size?

Cool, just by looking at it I'd say you could go more aggressive no problem, depending on suspension, and of course past that, how much body work you are willing to get done to make them fit. Anything is possible, but on a 211, I'm guessing you could go more aggressive than the one shown with a simple roll or even slight pull. Have you joined any of the MB forums (ie, MBworld, Benzworld or myMBonline) to see what other w211 owner's specs are? If not, that would be the best starting pointe.

i already joined MBworld and myMB , but more active in mbworld, they don't do aggressive wheels set-up there, they more going for speed and performance than looks. i'm willing to go with roll and pull or any modification except widebody. :)
this is the most aggressive set-up in w211 i found in mbworld, he said he's using CLS wheels setup with 4" lips on the rear but he doesn't know the actual offset and width
i will use air runner

i got news from a wheels dealer in, here's a 5" lip on a 20X10.5 on w211 wagon...but it stuck out about an inch...and he have a 265/30/20 tire on it.
i'm not gonna use this wheels but he showing me this to tell me 5" lips on rear of w211 is possible but not with flat face wheels or you can say straight spoke, this Zauber Gettin Spoke...with spokes that steps out into the barrel a bit.
so i need confirmation from you guys, if i go with flat face wheels straight spoke and use 5" lips , it might come out 0.5" more, do you think W211 able to use 5" lips with straight spoke???

stop trying to buy wheels by the lip size. study up on width, offset, and disk type. you've got all the information you need to calculate the fitment, you're asking to be spoonfed.

LORD-ORI;342511 wrote:oke thanks, seems like no one can give me a good recommendation on wheels size, will try it myself.
the difficulty is that not very many people here have a 211 (or even mercedes in general) so there isn't a fitment we can recommend casually. BoB98 is right -- you can't figure out fitment by the size of the lip. face design, offset, disk size, etc. (of course, this depends on manufacturer) will all change the size of the lip, so you need to concentrate on width and offset to get the fitment you want.
good luck! can't wait to see an aggressive e-class here :)
