Changing F50 spark plugs

Well the time has come to do my spark plugs on my 02 Q45.  Anyone here done them?

I assume it is going to be a challenge on this car.

i have a set of plugs to install in my car for the last year and i have been noting but lazy .. .. looks simple BUT i would enusre that the Engine is COLD .... before you attempt install

true that :D   What kind of plugs did you buy?

I have a copy of the factory service manual so I will be using that.   PLFR5A - 11

SPARK PLUG (PLATINUM-TIPPED TYPE) PFP:22401
Removal and Installation EBS001LE
REMOVAL
1. Remove ignition coil. Refer to IGNITION COIL EM-28, "Removal and Installation" .
2. Remove spark plug with spark plug wrench

Ok hopefully nothing major then seems like the coil packs/plugs will all be easily accessible.  I was just worried because I have heard horror stories from friends who have V8's.

Quite easy, just have to remove the the air intake system.

Just picked up Bosche Platinum spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter.  Doing a full tune up this weekend in hopes of improving the fuel economy.  My car has about 107,000 miles (172k) so it is about time the plugs were done.

Ugh really?  These are some new design apparently.

Can you change your own transmission oil?  It says have the dealer do it but I am trying to do a full tune up while my car is sitting in the shop just to have piece of mind when I drive the car back home

I've changed my plugs...  not hard just need to move some stuff to get to it.   I don't remember the details but with the right tools it is a breeze and just time consuming.   Just a reminder but don't mix up the coils.   Have them in order and put back the exact same order...good luck! 

Also when changing the transmission fluid make sure to use genuine Nissan MaticJ fluid.  It's written all over the engine as well as the manual.   People have tried different or equivilant fluids with some having bad results.   Why risk it with a fluid that you change not so frequently....

Agreed.  I had my transmission changed by a local shop a little while ago with oem spec Nissan Jmatic.  

I will exchange the spark plugs for NGK because I don't want to have to worry about them.

Good question.  No one had them in stock in my city so I decided just to try out the Bosch.  They are not the ones that people had problems with (Super Plus) so I am just going to hope for the best.

So far the car is running smooth and I have noticed slightly improved fuel economy after doing the air filter, oil change with oil filter and new plugs.   I was using 12.8L per 100km and now I have seen as low as 11.8L per 100km.  Average is around 12.5 though.

I'd say an average of 4% improvement.

I have been wanting to try that.. i used it on my SR and liked it, and it is awesome transmission fluid too.
