LS430 Supercharger...

Anyone ever done it? Thinking it would be a good winter project if I can grab another car so I dont have the drive the LS all winter.....

Will it even fit under the hood? What kit would I use? Engine management, etc?

Thanks.

TOM'S Japan made a supercharger for the Toyota Celsior UCF30/1 but I don't think the engine management would work with the US ECU + it's hella expensive!

THe Greddy system might be a little bit more reasonably priced than the Tom's. Well at least I know it will fit under the hood!

So no one has tried it? Ive seen Racinstyle's turbo set up pics and it is very impressive+easier to get under the hood but I dont have the fab skills to weld all he piping etc. I can do almost all the other stuff though.....fab brackets, basic welding etc.

it really comes down to engine management. you can do whatever, but you gotta find a way to tune it.

I heard that HKS makes a supercharger kit for the LS430, could of just been a prototype, and if it did come out to the market It might just be for the Japanese model. Worth a call to HKS USA and finding out.

Is the 430's system particularily hard to manage? No piggy-backing or reburning the ECU?

HOLY $H!T......I just checked Richwood, and there are sooo many options for you Lexus guys. This is really brutal for us Infiniti guys. And they are cheap too!!!

You guys need to go to the Lextreme forum if you are serious about supercharging. For every one of us Infiniti doing forced induction, there are 10 Lexus that are doing the same.

I think Wald made a supercharger kit also.

With that Aus. kit you still need to find someone to tune it, so you'll probably need to talk to Racin' and get some info on that.

RMM made a supercharger for the 400, IDK about the 430, it was a Vortec type supercharger IIRC.

I take it you just want a simple bolt on kit then since the most complete kit uses the M90. I'm kinda jelous since they are so cheaply available. I'm not a big fan of the Eaton SC as they aren't as efficient as the Autorotor/Kenne Bell/Whipple, but they are widely available can generate huge low end torque. One guy on the Lextreme forum had the M90 kit in a Cressida putting out 680 ft-lb on the dyno at 11.5psi. The M90 is a 1.5L blower where as I replaced my Autorotor 1.7L with a 2.2L unit. I have sitting on the shelf a 2.6L and 3.3L that I can't use without major modification to my manifold since it is a cast one piece, and I think that with different adapter plates you may be able to use them. Whether you want to to do 1000+rwhp is questionable.
And where abouts are you located? I'm in Abbotsford, BC east of Vancouver. If you need any help send me PM.

I think the Wald kit used an Ogura supercharger. These seemed to be designed with mounting ears and can replace or use the alternator/ac compressor mounts. I know a guy that has some, if anyone is interested, let me know and I will contact him.

The tuning can be done by any decent shop, I would recommend running the AEM F/IC-8 as a number of people have had good sucess with it.

I heard about RMM, not a big fan of the centrifugal supercharger, having run one in my Porsche. It operates like a turbo but you don't get full boost until redline since it is RPM dependent. Most of these centrifugals are fairly large and maxing one out is unlikely and neither is the boost drop.
