Squeaky Ksport Coilovers
Bought some used Ksports for my girls 07 Maxima and getting some squeaky action (not like that)...Sounds like the pillowball mounts....anyone have ksports and experience this noise. I am gonna go thru it again tonight and put some wd40 on the coils and maybe lube the pillowball joints with lucas lube.
I have had JIC and Megans on previous cars with no noise but never had pillowball mounts.
Thanks

it seems ok...they were used and sat a while. I can tell that the sound is starting to go away.

it is most likely where te springs meets the top and or bottom of hte shock. the metal on metal creates the sounds you hear. you can fix it with the rubber shims that most coilovers come with. stance sells them separate and so does ksport

I concur.
Pretty much any sounds coming from my K-Sports were eventually traced back to metal on metal rubbing, and was solved with a good cleaning and some light lubrication. The rubber/plastic washers quiet things down a great deal.

yeah...its all good now. I put those gaskets in and coated everything with wd-40 after a good cleaning and almost no noise at all.

Just as long as they are here for SUPPORT rather than sell then its all good. I'd much rather people buy thru dealers than direct personally. Support your shops!
If a manufacturer wants to sponsor this site, then by all means... contact us!

Until someone can prove to me otherwise with straight facts rather than opinion on whether they are knockoff or what, they are welcome here.
I honestly don't think that ksport is a knockoff company.

Thanks Matt..I called and spoke to Eric and he was very helpful...Looks like i have an older model as well...I may eventually buy new ksport struts as i think I just blew a rear... not too bad at 110 a piece and no rebuild needed. I bought these used and cant properly evaluate the quality yet.

Can you prove to me that this company is using a random taiwanese coilover or are you going off hearsay? Either way benefit of the doubt is there until proven with facts otherwise. I'm sorry if you do not like my outlook.

Regardless of where the parts are made, or their quality, they're not a copy of another brand's design. The entire thing is irrelevant and not constructive.
K-Sport also has excellent customer service, which I've experienced first hand on more than one occasion.

Exactly, I'm here to answer questions about our products. Ksport doesn't currently, or have any plans to, sell our products directly to end users. The only retail sales we do are replacement parts.
FLSImages- I'm not sure what the issue here is, but our coilovers aren't a "random taiwanese coilover." You seem to have a strong opinion of our product, and I'm not going to try to sway you. I didn't register on this forum to promote our products, nor did I come here looking to get anyone riled up.
Jason- Good to hear Eric took care of you. Replacing the shock is much faster and simpler than replacing the internals, and you're right, $110 isn't a bad price :)
Mods/Admins- Thank you for allowing me to stick around. I completely understand and support the whole no advertising unless you're a vendor thing. It's definitely fair. If the budget allows for it, we may have to talk about sponsoring or advertising solutions.
