I could be lower but...

So here's a little question for you guys. You want to be lower but what is stopping you? The question is towards your driving height, if that makes any sense. Let's talk more about the technicality of being slammed, bodykit, exhaust, oilpan...

well, first thing first is my wife lol.
second would be legality in new zealand. there are certain rules about lowering an it needs to be certed...and my car is already 90mm of the ground and alot of certifiers dont like anything lower than this, so yeah kinda stuck with what ive got, unless i get bags, but cannot justify spending 7k on it.
and our cops are pretty hard into lowered/ modified cars over here, they even have special unit out there checking modified cars...

sounds like california, lol.

aussieland has a ton of awesome cars available and great tuners, which makes it all the more strange to me how harsh the law is on modified cars.

same with me -- i'm planning on some shorter swifts soon, but i need to get off my lazy ass and measure to see what i need. i'm also scared of smashing cats, since that's the lowest part of my car right now, and it's becoming difficult for me to get in and out of my own goddamn driveway. that's about it though -- the plan is to go 1.5" lower at least all the way around very, very soon.

Have you ever lived here? Where do you get this crazy idea? There are slammed cars everywhere here. Just to prove my point, at the FYC cruise last weekend, Josh (BrokeY33) car is so low, he got stuck on a 2" high speed bump coming out of a parking lot, causing a traffic jam getting out. There were at least 5 cop cars, and they were all standing around watching the whole thing, but did he get a ticket for being too low? NOPE.

My reason is simple, I'm still waiting for my front coilovers to be built. Then I will be another 1" lower in front, which is all I want, and I'm going to have my center exhaust section completely re-made so I shouldn't scrap as much any more.

The bags are the highest they can go. I might have UAS make me a custom top hat that is moved inward a bit. Good idea!

Good topic bOosty.ViP!!! Money is the only thing stopping me right now. I'm on cut oem coils, just cut another 3/4 off my rears a little while back and want to cut at lest another 1/2 coil al around, but before I do I want to install some stiffer shocks as I'm still on stock shocks. Once the ride is stiffened up a bit via new shocks I'll go back in and cut. The company I worked for went out of business and I was unemployed for a minute getting half of what I made before - before unemployment I was living pay check-pay check. Fortunately I did land a job, but until some commissions start rolling in I'm living on base pay that's equal to what my unemployment checks were - half of just scraping by (no punn intended, lol) fml.

i got pulled over during the same cruise for modded exhaust hahaha. i think it depends on the officer and the area -- i've never been hassled where i am, even though i used to drive a 240sx that was wayyyy louder and flashier than my Q

funnily enough, the officer didn't even comment on my ride height *shrugs*

My excuse this year was autocross and really shitty coilovers. I guess it boils down to a lack of cash for proper coilovers that allow me to race slammed.
