Hood Mascot question

Did a search and this is a unique question. I have always wanted a hood mascot or badge. Now that I actually have a Lexus I am modding for VIP Style I was discouraged to see the hood is not flat!!!! Has anyone installed a Hood Mascot on a car with this type of hood? I think after some of the mods I am doing a Mascot will just finish it off so well.

Sorry man but with that nice crease in the middle of the hood i think your going to have a really really hard time getting it level without some serious work.  I have mine attached with double sided tape but it came with screws if you want to make sure it never moves.

I have  a JP  one in sliver that is almost  the same for sale ??

Look on the thailand VIP scene Im sure Ive seen a few RX's with hood mascots I could be wrong, my mind is kinda fuzzzy:420yawn:

I looked closer to the hood and it's not a large crease. I might be able to buy a small amount of metal or even rubber and make myself a mount and will make it fit. Would be very small and if done right, awesome.

they're hollow underneath right? if you have balls, you can trim it to fit the crease perhaps? maybe get a reputable shop to do it.

not something for the weak of heart.

This is an idea that could bare fruit. I would go through all my options. I would not want it to look good but only from a distance. If I did your way, and I like the idea, I would want it to look as OEM quality as I can make it. It is possible.

I was at Midnight Garage tonight hanging. This car was there:

Totally has pretty much the same crease as my RX hood. I am totally gonna try now. It's just the proper use of material to level the mascot.

I'd get the Wald hood badge if I were you.
IMHO the hood badge should go with other mods by the same manufacturer.
Like if you have a JP kit get a JP hood mascot or if you have a D.A.D. interior get their hood badge.
That's just me though.

Good point. I get over enthusiastic on this stuff and forget about that. Something I will have to consider. Might need to hold up Wald and force them to design one though lol!

It's pretty dope from all angles. At least from what I saw last night. The AME's looks great and stance is wonderful.

I would never use that hood mascot it's for a completely different brand of car. That photo was a reference to the crease line in the hood. I posted a photo of the JP one. LOL! Come on now :pat:.

I wasnt saying you would use THAT mascot, just that nissan made that one SPECIFICALLY for that car, maybe if you know that guy you can bother him, study it, and take a few que's... :slap:

make it fit! i am sure you can have the small spot where the mascot goes sanded a bit to fit! it will almost look molded in!

or even yet! if you dont want to mod your hood! mod the mascot to have the angles shaved into the base!

The cima hood badge I saw the other night (as Brandicus pointed out was oem) had some clear thick soft plastic? or silicone? or even clear rubber type seal or washer. Totally makes sense. I can see how it can be done without allot of trouble, but needs to be done by a skillful person. Maybe drilled as well. 

However first things first. I really need to do a test fit/ look. So when I get the kit and Air on I will get one and see if it looks funny or not. Then I will see if I must have to or if I can live without it and or with the fact it's mixing brands like Wald/JP exterior.

Yes gasket is probably the best word. Yup deforms evenly :)
