Installed my JDM window visors & some LED's

....couple weeks back, and they work amazing. It hardly rains in so-cal, but it's raining today, had the windows cracked open and not a drop came in! Install was easy, of course, you have to go by pictures since it's all Japanese and my wife wasn't around when I did it. At first I wasn't sure if I liked them, but I definitely do! The color is a bit purplish like Kingpin had mentioned, which is a perfect blend between my tint and blue paint (which itself looks purplish in some light) so that's a bonus. Undecided if I'm gonna cover the remaining chrome w/ black vinyl or leave it.

Also, finally installed the led strip-lights I bought at Up Garage in May. Don't know why I waited so long, I love 'em! They're Luxer1 but I only bought 2 sets, now I need 2 more, so I ordered them for the back doors and they should be here this week.

thanks! I love them. Considering that LED lighting is all the rage now with not only VIP cars, but new OE cars too, I guess the majority don't share your opinion. I think every VIP Car or Style for the past several months has had at least some sort of writeup on LED's, doesn't look like they're going away any time soon. Appreciate your comment though.

Here's a good shot of the interior lighting

i like/dont' like the leds. i think they look good, but i think it would look better if it was IN the door or had some kind of cover so you can't tell it's just a strip you wired in. but it could be the camera adjusting for the brightness, think i'd have to see it in person. either way car looks good.

Brain, it is definitely the camera. The strip is black and in the pic from the azz shot, you can see what they really look like, the door is dark, the strip is black and it's down low in a poorly lit area, so you really don't see the strip at all. In that close up pic it looks almost white, but that was just how she set the exposures to compensate and get the best shots of the light.

After I put them on and took a step back, I thought, this is so freakin cool looking, I can't believe I just let them sit in a bag for 5 months.

Nice work Kevin I like everything and it all looks l;ike it came out pretty good. I'm more of a fan of all white LED's myself, but it's your car and I think that the blue works well and goes with the dark blue of your car! Good work keep it up and can't wait to see your car with the new suspension in it. I'll be picking up my car tomorrow as well.

i agree led striplights look a little tacky but at least its a dark door jam like you said.

what i really dislike is that its a deep blue. if it were all white it would look better.

i prefer blitz's door pod led's with bezels.

jdm visors are always sweet though.

Blue is my favorite color, I got a blue car, I got blue lights. The blue is only used for the low level lighting, and it's much softer/more subtle than white. I don't want my car to look like a stadium when I open the doors. I like the white LED's for the upper lighting and I like the way at night the blue is a nice glow, not a bright glare. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though. Personally, I think there's nothing tacky about them.

VERY easy. If you have interior trim tools (nylon tools) it's easy to pop off the bottom of the door panel so you can splice into the courtesy lamps. I spent about 10 minutes on each side.

I thought about it, JadeY34 did his and it looks really nice. But I'm debating cause my all time favorite Y34 is a feature in the Nov. VIP Car and he left his silver. I'm 50/50 on it at this point.
