Double Din for the Y33

Hey guys, just picked up a 2000 Q45 AE, starting to get into VIP mods

Quick question for any electronics guys in here, does anyone know if there is a double din dash kit that will fit for the Q? I just picked up a pioneer D3, and can't seem to find any kits that will fit on crutchfield, and other sites.

I've seen a few people on here with D3s though, so any help would be appreciated!

if your car doesn't have the factory option nav, it's a bolt in install. remove the dash per FSM, then the original brackets bolt onto the new double DIN.

There no bracket for it.Take out the stock radio. It just fits perfect into the oem bracket and use the factory bolts for it when you take out radio!

Nice ride pancakes:biggthumpup:

OK cool. So I'm thinking the electronics shop that tried to charge me 740$ for installation is a little bit out of their minds. Looks like I'm gonna be doing some of my own wiring. Thanks guys

fuuuu seriously? i can't imagine labor on such an install going over $150 (and even that seems high for the amount of work that needs to be done -- wire in a metra/schosche harness, plug in some RCA's, bolt on, done and done).

This was all they were charging me for:

Bench Test of the D3
Installation of the D3
Parts needed for the Infiniti
Steering wheel control interface and installation
Pioneer Ipod interface for the D3 and installation
Pioneer Bluetooth interface for the D3 and installation

The bluetooth parts i kno are expensive, but the rest of it not so much. And what "parts"? According to you guys it bolts right in lol

you know what, wiring up the steering wheel interface is a bitch, if you're using an older PAC module. if you decide to do it yourself, metra has a more "plug and play" box, called the axxess or something like that. might want to check that out.

when i put the pac setup in my car the first head unit i ever had, it took me like 3 hours to figure everything out and program it. fml.

oh yeah, and the installation of the ipod cable and the bluetooth unit on the D3 is just... plug that shit in. super easy. i don't even think the bluetooth module needs a separate power and ground (although i may be wrong on this -- haven't played with one in years)
