slip over bags/air ride Questions
im not to familiar to everything that specifically goes in to air rides but i have a good idea and the technical knowledge so humor me.
got a few questions for you folks on air.
first question, in a basic cycle from being completely decompressed (lowered to the max) to raising the car up to your max how much total psi is used? obviously this is a relative question but id just like to get a few numbers to get an idea.
the reason i ask is, i want to figure out what size tank i want to run if i dont run compressors, i know that the compressor and tank system probably doesnt cost to much but i have a few compressed air tanks and want to see if they are viable.
second question, what is your opinion on half filled bags? id assume you would want to fully compress them but ive seen many people run at "normal height" in which they drive at and they also have a "full" height which is much higher. which brings me to believe that the bags are only partially filled. only issue i can think of is rate of compression of the bag. higher the pressure the lower the rate of compression and vice versa.
the reason i ask this is because im running a very aggressive set up and if i have too much travel the consequences may be detrimental. also because im running coilover type struts they are extremely short. the is only so much space between the lower bracket and the max expanded height of the strut. If i can run a slightly under filled bag for a good low height and not run into any "soft" compression rate issues then i will be golden
third question, im looking for a specific bag size for slip over bags. 150mm max, 100mm decompressed, 140-150mm outer diameter of bag and 56mm inner diameter.
final question, valves. how are they setup and how are do they work? to be more clear, how do you adjust a manual valve via inside of the car or how is a digital valve set up.

see if i can answer some, im assueing your looking to run bag on coilover setup without the coil spring correct?. a bit much to read but owell :pat:
1. my bags are UAS their max is 110psi so i run 100- 105 safely, any more you will possible harm them, you will need a tank youll get maby a full down and full up, on a full tank of air maby more if you run a higher pressure switch but that depends on the tanks max psi rateing, i have a 5 gal if i remember correctly lol and my buddy has a 3gal no real diff i could see, full tank and we both get one full up before compressure kiks on.
2. im going to say you should be fine, my factory struts are shot so i very rarely run have filld bags, if you stiffen the coilover you should be ok. are your stances 2way adjustable, stiffen and rebound?
3. if no one can tell you email UAS those measurement's.
4.im not to techy with valves but to adjust youll have some switches with guages(to read psi for the bags) i have analog guages with 4 electric switches, you press on up depending on how you wire it up the front will go up ect.. their isnt a "digital" valve but digital controllers, you can have a digital read out of psi/height, go further more and get it with a ecu that comes with some digi systems that reads purssure and height and itll adjust it for you.

theres a diagram on the UAS site under tech i think. i could write it out, but it's really easier to see how to set up your valving.

awesome i got the diagrams off of UAS and that really helped, any other places you guys recommend for slip over bags? UAS hasnt responded to multiple emails...

the coils are for a mazda 3, and yea the top hats are very beefy. they havent responded to multiple emails, so im going to try and give them a call.
so you guys really dont know of any other companys that do slip overs?.. :(
