Good Tires That will Stretch and Grab

Ok yesterday i got beat by a 05 mustang gt with broham at the wheel......yeah i know thats terrible. Well the problem is my back wheels are on these cheap blue streak tires that might as well be plastic. Im kinda stretching them its a 245/40/18 on a 18x11 but i need something a lit better than that. Do you guys know of any tire that stretches and can still grab when i decide i need to get somewhere?

i've had a good experience all around with Nitto NT555s, though i havent exactly gone autocrossing with them...

i was looking at those but i wasnt sure on how well they stretched but i guess ill order some and find out

thats a 245/35-20 on a 10.5" wide wheel.  -3.5* camber, flipped once and lasted me about 1.5ish years (sorry i have absolutely no idea on the mileage) and it wore almost perfectly evenly

I had similar results with the nitto 555's.  A lot of people say they are really loud but I only found them to be pretty loud.

The NT555's are great...I stick with these when I can. They aren't noisy IMO.  I wouldnt buy Falken FK452 or sumitomo. I hear the Hankook V12 are good too.

For 18's I used Falken RT615's and yes, they can stretch.  This is of course 15's, but you get the idea.

I like these tires. Usually they're special order since not many tire distributors stock them.

615s are a good tire but i wouldnt run them on a slammed car, can't swap side to side :(

Do not get Falken 452's for stretching. The Hankook V12's are awesome.

general exclaims r great for stretching and can take a good beating.

i heard nothing but great stuff about the v12's... great for handling.

don't drive with nt555's in the rain.

I know it sounds dumb, but my wife stretches Potenzas REO 50's and because the sidewall is so stiff the one time she got a flat it completely protected the rim.  she is only running 225/40/19 on a 9 wide rim though...
 
Moving to Hankook's in the rears soon though sinc I got a brand new pair free for her.

i fucking hate those potenza re050s. they're loud, super stiff, and all around not my favorite tire, the only real positive thing i have to say about them is that they're run flats.i have a set in 17 and i don't even put them into rotation when i change wheels.

unless you drive them in the rain in the state i posted above, NT555s are perfectly fine in the rain.

for what they cost new at most major tire shops, i would hope so!

Actually I've had a really nice experience with the Falken 452's in heavy rain, but they would leak air as they are not designed for stretch applications. I have to get them dismounted and find a new set of tires for next Spring. I'm thinking Hankooks or NSII's as my N/A 2JZ is slow and doesn't need major performance ;)

i have had falken 452's twice and had strange things happen to them i went ahead and ordered a pair of nt555 for the rear of my car just to see what happens. hopefully i dont burn through these in 2 weeks.
