Just installed Megan EZ streets on '96 LS

So Just got finished installing my new Megan EZ Street coilovers, and my car is slammed. "Bag low" easily. The fronts allow lowering to the point that it would be impossible to drive as it would jam the upper A-arm into the strut tower, so I had to raise it about 1.5" higher than all the way down. The rears I have all the way down and the preload rings dropped about 1" lower than how they came. Usually I don't lower coilovers by dopping the perch rings, but if I hadn't, the rake would have been ridiculous.
 
First impression of the ride quality:
A little bouncy, but it is to be expected when rolling this low static, and I plan to tinker with the dampenig tomorrow to make it smoother.
 
I ran out of light today, so no pics, but I will snap a few tomorrow and post them here.

If you wanna run that low and run lower offset wheels, I would have suggested the LP coils...thay have a much stiffer spring rate than the EZ Streets

pics or it didnt happen

and most guys cut a hole in the strut tower to allow the upper arm to clear.

^ Im probably going to do that this weekend.

I kinda wish they were a bit stiffer, but for $700 shipped,I can't complain too much.

interested to see how low they went, although dropping the perch kind of negates some of that imo. it makes sense that they would go lower on a 20 than they do for the 10s since they cross app them and 20 struts are long from the factory.

this was as low as i got it before i put it down. this is just jic (snug perch), uca cleanrance, new tires, and modded exhaust. pre ss kit.

*edit - i'm always down to kick it though so if you want to hook up (no homo) or stop by the shop lmk.

lmk if you need some help. i don't have the stuff to make it pretty right now but i got a big a** hole saw, an air drill, and a compressor.

Megan actually recco's no more than 1" of free play if you're maxed out on the lower bracket.  wont affect longevity i was told.

true perhaps, but in regards to height comparison it's irrelevant since i have never dropped the perch.

Be very careful you don't rub through the harness above the front wheels.

also, starting to think I might have to go with 18's instead of 19's. Might not be able to turn if I go as agressive as i want with 19's. I do prefer the 19" look though. Any thoughts?

no the carving heads for sure, im sorry but beemer wheels have always looked weird on the ls IMO

it fits the gs body lines mo' better.

word..not feeling the beemer wheels on it.

My wheel of chice, if I had to pick a favorite, are Rotiform NUE's though. Might ebd up picking those up in March.

personally i love how 19" mesh wheels  look on a LS!

I need photoshop so I can keep putting wheels on! lol
 
I really want to see the NUE's on there. Another big plus is that I can get 19x10 cast NUE's for about $800 total, when they come out.

Regardless, I have some time to think about it, due to my lack of funds currently =p

18"-19" super rs would be dope... if you're willing to run the 2" spacer to make em fit.

^ I love rs's but not usually in 18's. I really hate the huge angle lips on the regular version rs's needed to make the 16" centers into 18's. And I've never really been a fan of super rs's.

i actually like the slant lip 18" 3 piece, but cats are getting out of hand with the pricing lately. i probably wouldn't throw them on the 95-97, but i was actively looking for the 92.
 
i've always wanted some 19" super rs for my "never sell" collection. price is  just so d**n high even used.

problem with 18-19" super rs (non slants) is that they're 2 piece, so rebuilding isn't as easy or cheap as 17" and smaller 3 piece models.

And, rs's are getting stupid expensive these days. Its amazing what hype can do.

nah. rotiform has some sick designs but they don't work well on these kinds of cars. i will have no part in it.

The NUE's remind me of like a one piece euroline SL. So I think it would look rad.

I used to have a set of ssr koenig monsters, and I would love another set. There is a set on zilvia.net right now but they are asking way too much.
 
Still liking the 745 wheels though. The carvings are rad, but I don't know if its the look Im really wanting. Hmmmm.

just did the UCA clearance w/ Mike (BLKonBLK98) and I was riding on the fender well. lol. So now I'm a bit lower. 
 
Probabl gonna test fit the carvings next week, and I expect that I will be nearly tucking wheel, after doing some measurements.

I had Megans on my old s14 and was happy with them, but I've heard and read nothing bad about the BCs also. I'm actually very surprised how low those EZs go for $700! :giggity:

^yeah, I have it at full stiff upfront and one out in the back. Rides really well just a bit higher than in the pics.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but make sure you tuck the harness in the front wells. You can chop them and relocate them if you need to.

Saw this blog post and did my ucf21 wire harness tuck the same day. I got it over the metal lip but it didnt want to stay and i didnt want to drill into my frame to run the zip ties coz theres no holes to run it from, so I just slapped on some gorilla tape and it did the job. I dont know how it'll hold up in rain though haha

Weather has been shit this week, but the test fit will happen today. Had to order some new tires for the rears, so waiting on that too. Im trying my hardest not to get anxious and rush through anything, but its proving difficult as I have NO patience. As soon as the wheels are on, a photoshoot is happening, so don't fret ;)

okay, so test fit is done, and the fitment is PERFECT. Front will be coming down a little and I really like the rear where it is.

swift springs are legit.  rear fitment looks spot on!

^thanks. And, the rears are perfectly flush lip to fender. With comperssion the wheel should just barely clear the fender....... I hope:giggity:

Im using adapters. I ordered 1" and they are just a hair thicker (actually 27-28mm) So the final offset is something like -3.75 all around 19x9/10.

Because they look rad as hell to me. I p-chopped about 10 different sets of wheels on my car and these looked the best, imo. I wanted something understated and somewhat OEM looking. Honestly, cheap was the least of the reasons for my decision.

Once I get the tires, hopefully Anup and I can meet up on Sat and get it worked out, I am having my photographer buddy shoot it. I'll probably make a new thread at that point ;)

my 19x10 +12 rears have 235/35's and I shaved the inner fender flat and the rim hits, and tire barely clears by about 2-3 mm. you may need to roll. keep the fender roller close by or maybe you will clear with 225's. Good Luck. Those rims match the color of the car well.

I already rolled flat and did a slight pull. Fender work is what I do on the side for extra cash. My sig is the 'company' I started in the Houston area as a mobil fitment garage.
 
You should see my trunk, I have a PBM roller, floor jack, lots of tools, multiple stands, a heat gun, a grinder, body hammer, books for old school pulling methods, boards to drive up on to clear the jack (and my jack is a super thin jack) and extension chords=)

This is exactly how I am wanting to build my LS...where did you get your adapters? Decent enough price that you aren't spending $2000 for wheels, tires, spacers/adapters?

Also, would you still suggest the EZs? Its between those, the LPs, and the BC Racing coilovers.

bc racing coils will get you lower than the megans without a doubt.

^they all get you low, but BC>LP>EZ 
 
That being said, Im pretty damn low, and I don't really have any issues with the stiffness. . . or lack there of. Its decently firm but slightly more forgiving than BCs and LPs. I would get BCs if I had to do it all over again though.
 
I got the adapters from adaptitusa.com . Its a really good price and a good company to deal with. The smallest adapter they offer are 1" though, which could be an issue with certain wheels on certain cars, obviously :p

that 1" spacer put ur car to holy flushness!

I would be running that exact wheel on mine...not being a copy cat but I love the simplistic/oem look of them.

I'm also really into the Chrysler 300C SRT8 wheels (but wouldn't need an adapter for those)

Not maxed out, but if you like to drive really low, they would be better if they were a bit stiffer. Overall, not bad for the price though.
