multi drill wheels.

ive notice that some wheels from japan come with a 5 lug and 4 lug multi drill 

if i buy five lug wheels is there any way to make em drill a 4 lugs. would a custom wheel shop be able to do it?

yes u can get them custom it..but it is not recommended as the space between each holes are closer..n the chances of breakin 'em are easy..
better get 'em in double pcd from the factory.. ;)

Id much rather redrill hubs and rotors then ruin an expensive not easily replaced wheel. 8)

There are machine shops that can do it, but some refuse to because of insurance purposes and what not. But sometimes they have enough faith in their equipment to do so. 

PCD means Pitch Circle Diameter, or bolt pattern basically. 

PCD is the distance the bolts are from the center.
ex: 4x100, or 4x114 100 and 114 are the PCDs

Not all modern hubs can be redrilled because they are cast to accomodate only the specific bolt pattern they're originally drilled for. It's way easier to have a little patience, and save a little extra money to get correct-fitting wheels in the first place. Most any quality wheel can be had in a 4 lug, unless it's a specific 5 lug only design... and then, if you have to have those wheels so bad, you save up and get a 5 lug car

it seems that its easier said than done. i have not yet found any nice wheels that i like in 4 lug 

im looking for 18x9 plus 27 offsets in a nice chrome wheel.

nothing i have found is available in 4 lug

please i would appreciate some guidance in the right direction

most new wheels can be ordered in 4 lug if you so choose

what car is this for? 

in another post you said you have a 98 tl  BUT  those are 5 lug. well    if you have a4 lug car  get four lug wheels. the cost you spend on drilling another lug pattern is better spent on proper wheels.  not to mention the safety of it.   look i was stuck in a ordeal myself and decided to just swapp the entire brake system to use 5lugs, granted the seller helped to cover the cost of the conversion.

upgrade the hubs to five lug and the wheels are endless...

4 lugs is real limited. and rebdrilling wheels, it all depends on the placement of the existing hole, the distance of the new holes from the centerbore, and the face of the wheel. most are cut to reduce weight, making it impossible to redrill.

thanks guys. your right i do have a 98 tl. but its a 2.5 wich came with a 4x114.3 lug pattern i think i just might have to find out if a five lug conversion is needed. but i have found some work wheels in japan veranza d3s. thank go those come in 4 lug. now where do i order them? hm..........

shoot, i cant remember the company... but they are in japan, and they make a hub that you screw studs into for 4 or 5 lug apps... sounds kinda unsafe ,but whatever... they are all over the yahoo japan auction boards... cant remember the brand...

4/5 lug hubs are safer than redrilled wheels.
There's more material between the studs.

Besides to redrill a wheel, it needs to have the following:
A covered cap design where the mounts for the cap wouldn't interfer with a 4-lug pattern,
and a solid hub pad.
If you notice, a lot of wheels when viewed from the back have pockets between the lugs. You would need a solid one for a redrill to work.
