92ls400-how do you know if your water pump went out?

how can i tell if my water pump is out on my 92 ls400 lexus? i dont drive that far to work everyday like 5 min to get there from my house so its hard to tell, do it make a certain sound like a winding noise? or what?? any help thanks

that noise is most likely your power steering pump based on the other thread you made.

u'd probably overheat pretty quickly.

get ur powersteering checkd, if its not overheating try driveing around and if within,norm temps yet still get noise prob the power steering. mine went as well had a squeak was the pump
