Yup, that's seriusly what-is-up. The center of the dffusser, not so much but the rest of it most def outweighs that one piece. That thing is the goal. THE GOAL. In all honesty I'd be pleased with the passenger side tipps off that beast for my sidepipes proj.

I agree on the badging. I would consider though getting a 07 S550 and upgrading the tails and headlights though...

Benz are bastards, you can't.  You need to reprogram the computer to get the headlights and mirrors to work lol.  Plus, you need the whole front clip including the hood, grill, and bumper.  Would be over 9k just for the front.  The tails will work though from what I was told.

actually, I know there are alot of 221 S320/350 petrol, non-diesel.

The tails need reprogramming too and a 2010 sam i believe. There is a few guys that bought ebay tails for $499 shipped and they are plug and play. 
 
The fronts a whole other story you need 2 headlights 7 precoded light modules and the harness they plug in to which is like $4500 before you get it all reprogramed. :pat:

Sounds like typical German electronics...a clusterfuck that is only beaten by Land Rovers. Time to re-run the wiring yourself and turn on the lights with the switch yourself lol!

My friend Sam made me aware that the new tails go off like a strobe light when you hit the brakes hard to warn drivers behind you.  Sick little features like that, I doubt you can just rig to get them to work

The MAE wheel is a love it or hate it style so I wouldn't have expected them to react differently.  On this car, they look dated to most but the overall execution makes it work to us.  Plus, step lips are not popular in north america on large luxury sedans.  This is why you rarely see US wheel companies make step lip wheels bigger than 20" unless they are catering to a niche.

You can get the 2010 tails made for 07-09 as a plug and play in red/clear or red/smoke on ebay.  Not sure if they retain the strobe function.  It was brought up on benzworld but I can't remember the verdict.

The headlights are a colossal clusterfuck.  [b]However[/b], without a doubt somewhere in china the 2010 headlights are being broken down and copied for a $500 ebay set.  They already have 2010 S (style) headlights for the W220, i'm sure the W221 is in the works.

^The ebay w220 w221/ look headlights are cheesy in person.  I seen them on the road and the LED's were not bright at all and I could imagine that they will burn out in a matter of months.  Those are to be bought to replace the projectors with xenon ones that don't shoot the light all over he place and change the LED's with some quality ones which was pretty much what you wanted to do anyway.

You will get that reply on any forum thats not a specialty site like this or a stance forum which are built on the foundations of modifying.  Most people need to be told what to do by a select few.  If it hasn't been done, they can't imagine it looking right

gotta understand the crowd. the 221 guys paid big money in the last couple years to buy a premium car off the lot, that's all they care about. post up something clean on mae in the w140 section and i bet you get a different response. most of the 221 guys probably don't even realize that that is a premium wheel made by a legit foundry for a (once) legit company.

Ya the 2010 'copies' (although you can also get the clear part OE smoked which is cool) are better than the ones I posted but it is interesting to see the W216 design incorporated into the tails.  I'm really hoping they do 2010 W221 tails for the W220.  It's unfortunate the W220 2010 style headlights are cheesy in person.  I  have yet to see them in person.  The part that is a LED DRL should be a amber LED turn signal, thats how it is on the 2010 headlights.

The guys on the MB forums remind me of the old Z guys. If you mod anything, they don't like it. To them, stock is best. I wouldn't run the wrong badging on anything I drive. Would rather just remove the badges than lie about what I have.

Its weird that the mbworld guys think stretched tires and aggressive offsets are a new thing to euros when as far as I remember started with the euro guys.

Anyway, I like the car and I like the wheels but I dont like them together.
