swapping ucf10 engine control unit.

my buddy swapped his fried ecu for a refurb unit. does the unit need to be reprogrammed first, or should it be PnP? anyone have any suggestions as to how to tell?

Go ahead and try the ECU, should be PnP.

AFAIK, Toyota ECU's can be interchanged as long as the engine and tranny are the same. BUT, on Supras, AT ECU's can run MT cars, but not vice versa. Not sure if it's the same for all the others.
