vip rims?

hey guys I'm new to vip, but i love the style and im searching my ass off to find information. But one thing that i really can't put my finger on is are there really only vip rims? because i was thinking of putting some Work miester sp2 on my ls UCF20. Thanks in advance guys and sorry if the question is stupid.

if they look lightweight, then probably not VIP. vip cars look heavy.

some cars can pull off miesters but for your model, you should into some 19x10s big face, big lipped wheels. try the new Work euroline

Just to clarify:

In response to the success of Ford's 1965 LTD, a luxury sedan in the "low-priced" field, Plymouth offered the VIP. Would people pay the price of a Chrysler to buy a "gussied-up" Plymouth? They hoped so, offering a car featuring exterior refinements such as an optional vinyl roof (that was virtually standard since most VIPs came with it), fluted aluminum taillight panels, wood grained inserts in the side trim, rubber bumper strips and special colors and medallions. Inside, luxury was found in deep pile carpet and special tufted block pleated upholstery on seats featuring fold-down armrests. The padded dash was standard as were individually switched reading lamps on the inside C-pillars, seat edge courtesy lights plus plastic walnut grain trim and the special medallions. Introduced only as a four-door hardtop at the beginning of the model year, the VIP line was, on January 1, expanded to include a 2-door hardtop. Like the Sport Fury, the VIP came stock with a V8 engine, a 318 with the larger sizes optional. VIP production totals are unknown since they were included with other four and two door hardtop totals. Unfortunately, the VIP did not prove to match the resounding success of the LTD and it was dropped during the 1969 model year.

There is no Vip wheel, just wheels that look good on Vip cars.

anything can go on a VIP car, but just the essence of VIP mods seem to exude an abundance of $$$.

the first thing to worry about is fitment and stance.

then worry about the type of wheel. I'd rather have properly fitted American Racing rims than 7.5+45 pizza cutter Expands...

so it's fitment, then type IMO.

and while there's no 'VIP wheel' per say, most VIP people go with nice wheels that can be ordered to fit. Since most cheaper wheels are one size fits all or most, they wouldn't be a good fit for most VIP platforms... make since?

I just looked up the S1-2P...it looks very purposeful and definitely race-bred...it wouldn't seem very Vip on an LS, like sneakers with a suit.

you guys make a good point! and i agree i photochopped it and it does look funny. I was thinking more of the new euroline the mesh looking one.

I have some 20's SSR Vienna Dish going up for sale soon...... they were on my car winter is here. Im looking at something diffrent for next yr.

That's exactly like going to a forum and asking...which rims are best for drifting? so on and so forth...

There are a whole crap load of picture threads in the photo gallery and wheels/fitment section alone. I don't believe you if you couldn't find good examples of "VIP rims".

If you look at the rims you'll get a pretty good idea real quickly.

also, guys , lighten up, everyone starts out clueless, let him get help by pointing him towards the pics section and search button..


and to help the cause sir...

imagine wheels that look to pretty to touch, mutlipiece wheels with enormously large faces (some heavy, some not). Big lip always does the trick too, but people might argue that a sunken face is also the key to being "cutting edge"...

as for color options, the easiest thing you can think of is black with a polished lip... but the results are in, black face is out.... its all about silver, chrome, polished face, and of course my fav. Machined!


lets be honest, wheels can make or break a car, and there are some wheels that are borderline.... for instance... the work meister s1.. its 3 piece, its 5 spoke, but you see it on alot of "not vip" cars... take a gold face s1 wit ha polished lip and throw it on a ae86 and its not vip, but take a chrome faced s1 with a polished lip and throw it on a kitted ls400 and you are much closer to vip style..

when in the wheel game, keep these 3 things constant...

1. there is no room for knockoffs
2. the wider the better, but dont get foolish
3. keep it clean, keep it fresh
