.....New '06 M35x Build.....

Hey guys... new to the vip scene... At the end of last summer I picked up a '06 M35x. So far I have installed OEM sport aero kit, Megan mufflers, mid pipe and tinted the windows 35% all the way (including windshields).
k-Sport coilovers on the way, should be here this week.... will post more picks

Not sure yet on wheels, still checking out different styles and finishes. Working on getting all of the little stuff done first...

LOL thanks homie. Need to get a local M meet going. There's 2 other M45 guys I know that are in the local area who's pretty cool.

yeah dude, is hard to find susp. part fo the x, ksports were the only coilovers
i could find and i called a lot manufacturers to see if they were developing anything. not luck.

OUCH!!!! I put my suspension on in my small ass 1 car garage. it was horrible in 45 degree weather. I cant imagine 20!!!! Nice work fellaz!!!!!:eekwiggle:

Dam local M install and I cant get a call? Lol. I wish you guys had called I got a fairly good sized 2 car garage with heat you could have used. lol.

We should have a spring time meet considering how many Ms are in the area.  I'm not too far from eastern MD.

yea the aero kit sure seems priced low...not sure but I do like their roof wing!

the price is low because it's made of fiber-glass, you will also need to paint it. 
 
and the roof spoiler is nice, I have it on my M.

Dam kinda wish i lived in MD now with all the M's poppin up arond there! I dont see any M's around my town let alone a vip styled one....

Soooo. I adjusted my coilovers up some, so i could drive without bottoming up. Lol. Since then the ride has been even better. Very close if not the same as stock.

i've been contemplating different wheels for my car. i havent come to a final decision yet but im thinking about going with a concave style wheel.

I like the Vossen but you should check out our Wheels and Tires section, there are some really nice wheels for sale right now.

I like the look on the savini's , though you'll have to go aggresive to pull it off !!

you're gonna have to pull some serious offsets to get that Savini wheel to look THAT concave. Stay proper... look into a set of Blackfleets  by rays in 20" or TrafficStar SFR in black polish. It'll look nice against that LP M. Pony up baby....you got it

I ended up building a shield around mine to keep the engine's heat away from the filter.  On the Ms specifically, dyno results show LOSSES to almost no gain just by installing the intake.  Go figure.  The shield helped out a good amount.

Very nice. Cant wait to catch up with some local M guys.

How did those KSPORT coilovers fit? I too have a M35x and I couldnt find any manufactors that carry coilovers for the AWD model.. Do you have a pix of your M35X dropped with the KSPORTS?

On the " X " models,  you utilize the factory lower strut wishbone mount. Thats the part you see that wishbones around the axles. Take a look at how the front Ksports taper inward at the bottom. That part slides into the factory mount.

Hey daronte20, I know what you mean, it took me a while to find these coils. The fit really well, no problems so far. During the install I had to buy two nuts
for the rear coilovers. (the factory coils have them built on) I've been really happy with the ride so far and my ride is dropped pretty low. For the cost and the limited brands these are really good.
 
Total install time was about 35-45 mins, but this was in a driveway with hand tools...

hey daronte20 no full pics to the rear.. you indeed remove the rear spring from the spring bucket. The rear coilovers slide right in where the struts go no problem, and the spring bucket sits empty....

Can you give me an update and a short review? I had '02 K-Sports on my max had a few instances that needed replacements. I know they are different depending on the car but would like to hear what you have to say so far.

Hey guys! It's been a long while since I've posted on my tread. A lots happened in the past few years but I've managed to keep my M35x around and decided to continue the build. Over the past month I've been doing some much needed  maintenance to get her back on the road, still some things to do but I found the time to get some new shoes.
