It appears that the fender has already been cut here? What did you use to cut it?

IDK probably a sawzall.  They didnt get to the fender work yet.  The car does lay frame now.  Updates on the blog and here, tonight

wondering about the wiring harness.  Are you resoldering all those wires because you will lose some current by just crimping them pack together.  Person I sold mine to blew tire and shredded his wiring harness.  They tried to repair it and found that stuff didnt work right or at all afterwards. they decided to replace whole harness to fix it

That's why I just moved it aside... first it's a bitch to re-solder and secondly it always changes the orig. wire resistances.

The upper frame mount has been modified as well to allow his to lay frame which the car now does.

rear quarters complete and id have to say im happy - i insisted that they keep the body line - there was so much bondo on the car - it was crazy but im content with the end result - may not seem like much but im laying frame - the fronts will be done as well and yeah - im working on a solution for the primary cats but the mufflers will be removed - it will look like a beast and sound like a beast

i agree that it is a shame. i explained to ravi that a lot of the vip market already has fuctioning systems installed, and just need the cups to do a conversion, but it is not negotiable. umbrella takes a lot of pride in their air/power module. the other reason is to maintain quality by ensuring that the components used are up to par.
 
realistically though, you're only paying for a tank/compressor, 2/4 valves, 1/2 switches, and a plug and play harness. it's less complex than a bag setup. most current air bag users would probably break even selling the managment side of their setup, even with the diminishing return of used parts.

One question though, if the car lays frame when down, then that means you can't really drive it laying frame, right? So when you have to raise it up while driving which will look really 4X4 status due to the radius, correct?

the whole purpose of this modification was to ride lower, laying frame just happened.

It really depends on the travel pcakes. Ie on my old setup I had to be at 80 psi not to bounce. It was somewhat comfortable. The lower u go the less travel you will have. I went full hard on the dampening. And the bag will have less travel so I might be at 80 psi but since the bag does not haveas  much travel as it used to. At 80 psi it will be riding lower and stiffer.  This is how  I imagine it and the radius will allow me to turn

after reviewing pics..I think the suspension was pulled and they were messing with the bag height and other things...   you can see in that pic you pointed out that the top mount isn't even bolted in...  and the car is on jack stands on all 4 corners.    

I'm pretty sure those are just plates bolted to the bags so the plates sit better on the lock perches.   Just the bag sitting on the lock perch alone makes it sit loose.

i dunno... maybe you're right. lots of stuff that has been said doesn't make sense or is just straight up false. perhaps they got something going on out of the norm.

When some people radius, they don't do the work needed inside to actually ride low.  Not only will it be lower when parked, this car will be able to be driven that way

what was used to trim the fender for the radius? I am contemplating on buying one of those air saw things but I have a plasma cutter too, curious on what you all use before i go at it. Mine has been marked for ever for it lol

Again I'm humble - it's just a car!!! I was influenced and helped by so many people on here so I can't take all the credit.

Yeah current. I took it out the shop a little early. Once I get the primary cats removed and I radius the front fender and trim the front bumper it will roll a little but lower. And im at like 100 psi front and 70 in the rear so it's still smooth considering. No rubbing except that cats on occasion

So if i was given a second chance at life when I was 4. Held up with a knife to my neck at 7. Fight or be bullied in junior high and end it with bringing a gun. To a much better life I should see things different? No! Sorry friends are friends I have hardly any fam besides my mom and step dad. So if I lost some thing I was passionate about or it was taken from me. You bet your ass I wouldn't see it differently. I went through a lot to get here and not gonna let a punk bitch take it.

I agree completely. Cars are cars, just simple machines built to serve a purpose. While I have owned almost 60 cars in my life I've never been attached to any of them. The important things in life are not replaceable. Although I've never had bullets flying at me, I do agree with you.

car is definitely japan level, for better or worse depending on personal preferance. i really hope to see the day where the accents (grill, headlights, taillights) are returned to chrome.
 
new ride height is dope. i think they could have gone further into the doors to make it less flare looking and more widebody, but all in all it was a nice round of mods.

I personally think this is the closest any body on North American soil has come to reaching the level of our Japanese counter parts with a Y33. 

Don't ever go back to chrome. It is one thing to reach a level of modification and detail of the Japanese scene cars, it is another to copy them completely. I think, in this country anyways, the definition of what is "VIP" is completely blurred. This amazing Q seems to have bridged the gap between traditional VIP values, and the owner's own personal taste.

i personally think its surpassed many cars over there...tho i think there are a handful of other US cats that have, while maybe not quite 100% in "japanese style", nicer vip cars than whats over seas.
