G50 Drift car
I guess this is my intro/build thread for you guys. Names Ryan, I'm 25, live down here in San Antonio, Tx. I've had seriously like 20+ 240s and now I'm on to big bodies. Fell in love with my G50 and nothing else compares now. Anyhow, heres some of my stuff.
ye old drift car
vh45/z32 trans, coils, kit, blah blah blah, all the normal s chassis bs...
Daily
Skyline coilovers, Nardi woodgrain wheel, Mb wepons/g35 wheels. Pretty plain compaired to alot of your cars but its a work in progress.
New drift car
I'm literally working on this as we speak. I'll be keeping it classy but bossing the fuck out of this thing on the track. Doesn't look like much but its coming together quickly. I'll deff keep an update here.
mocking up seats
working on the cage
I've got a bunch more but that'll do for now. Coilovers on the way, Kit on the way. Motor/5 speed waiting on paint and then its ready to drop in. Clutch pedal assembly done. Paint is sitting on the shelf. Waiting on my dimple die kit so I can finish the cage out and paint int/ext....install parts.... I literally have everything to get this going minus the driveshaft. Waiting on UPS for everything else. Going to run this car in the Lonestar Drift series this year. So stoked, I'll never go back to an s chassis. I love my G50s! Enjoy!

I dunno, it's somethig different. Car was like $500 running. Itll be cool when its dumped and kitted. V8 s13 was cool but that chassis was pretty haggard so I decided not to dump more cash into it. Didn't know you were on here. Running the series this year?

Better upgrade that steering rack! It tends to break a lot for G50 drifters.
Also look into the z32 5-speed conversion. There are topics on it over @ NICO.

As of now its going to be stock with an upgraded ecu. I've got a couple motors so I'd like to go through one and run lower comp with a supercharger for next year.

What's the upgraded rack for these? I know alot of these nissan/infiniti parts are interchangable.
Two steps ahead of ya. Clutch pedal assembly is already in the car and I'm swapping over my setup from my vh/z32 trans 240. Need to fab a trans mount bracket and order my driveshaft and shes ready to rock.

Don't know, the guy I knew that drifted these never said if there was one. He had an RB26 in his and ended up giving up the drifting because of the rack.
A very nice prefabbed trans mount bracket can be obtained from

Did my own in-house machining to my z32 housing and made an adapter plate similar to the mazworx one out of like 6061. Got stacks of em. ;)
Guess well see what happens with the rack and upgrade accordingly.

The "race car" has kinda been on the back burner lately and the trans on my street q is going out. Someone gave me ANOTHER q45, its a 91 I believe so.....we dropped a fresh vh/5speed in it sprayed it the other day. Heres a little teaser. Its a custom color we came up with. Kinda Candy apple metallic red with gold flake that looks INSANE under light.

Sold the red car and now I've got this one. 94' black/black with the dark wood. Currently at Uprev in Austin getting a full FD cage w/ full interior and modded knuckles for more angle. I could have done it myself but I don't think I would have been satisfied with my own level of craftsmanship.

You and me both! Can't stand it. So stoked to get this thing back up and going. Cage is looking rad. Interested to see what kind of angle he gets out of modding the spindles. The stock steering angle on the G50 is horrid. Hope to have the car back in a week or two. Mocking things up on my spare motor for custom intake manifold that'll work with an Eaton M112 supercharger in the meantime. On top of that...my buddy leaves for japan tomorrow! Hopefully I can score some 32 gtr coils/kit/wing/pres parts for a reasonable price. I'll try and keep things updated as I make progress. :hyper3:

sorry, missed your question. I'm not going to be satisfied with anything less than 425+ but we'll see. There is so much conflicting information out about these motors and what they actually put out I'm interested to see what it REALLY does with forced induction. If possible, I'm going to see if I can get a pull on the dyno before I tear into it just to get a baseline.

Couldn't do the knuckles at the moment because I didn't realize they are aluminum and not steel. Have to snag some 32 gtst steel knuckles. Anyhow, was able to go from 37* of angle to 45* so I'm happy. Anything is better than what it started with.
Picking the car up tomorrow. I'll snap some picks of the improved steering angle as well as the cage as I paint it. Looks like the back seat is going to be able to be put back in as well with a little trimming and restapling of the leather. Stoked. FULL FD spec cage with full interior. Ballin

Currently just the stops are cut. I'll do the spacers when I put my quicker ratio s14 rack in. I'm told they swap right into a 32 so it "should" work on these cars with little to no modification. Was able to get those r32 steel knuckles so when they're cut and it's all said and done that should put it around 55* give or take depending on wheel clearance.

sweet, that will be exciting to see all that get done, don't forget to take pictures as you go!
Watch out for wheel clearance up front, i had issues with the wheel(17x10+12) hitting the tie rod with steering rack spacers and cut steering stops. The angle at joint of the outer tie rod and the knuckle were at about 0 degrees, it would definitely stick at full lock a little while sitting on the j-flange of the wheel, hahaha needless to say, but i had to pull the steering rack spacers. The more i think about it the more i realize there was more going on than really makes a lot of sense at the moment.
one other issue, my Z32 ES urethane steering rack bushings are totally shot, they lasted about two years of driving and drifting only a couple times a month, i don't know what to suggest? OEM could be better.
hope some of that helps, good luck!

iirc the early q rack ratio is just about equal to that of the z/s. i had a q rack built (best ratio) with z33 inners, steering angle spacers, and z32 outers.

Haven't made much progress since I've been sick lately. Driving the car up to the shop today to swap the coil over to an ls1 setup. Sick and tired of these stupid coils acting up.
