#368589Importing Conforming RHD Cars into USA - Who has good connection!
Who here has connections to import a legal, RHD, conforming car into the US from Japan?I've read through the list of authorized Registered Importers from the NHTSA, RHDJapan seems like a good choice but they only keep the regular accords, nissans etc...I've also read up on the similarly comparable model US-vehicle to what I am planning on purchasing, this should be no problem at all.
The vehicle I wish to import is newer than 2003 model year, conforms to all DOT and NHTSA regulations, EPA and SMOG so it should easily slip through customs with the 2.5% import tax, and include a california certificate of title, and drive away. I can pick up at the US-Port, or have one of my companies come pick up the vehicle at the drop port if necessary.
*note, I won't be registering the vehicle in california, so it doesn't need all the extra inspections..
