Wow, I really like what you have done with your GS. Cant wait till its done!

Oh, just out of curiosity...would you be interested in some parts I have left over? (sold my GS and had some parts).

I have a set of used aristo tailights (you might have it already), the one with the chrome trim.
I also have a set of used JDM window visors (toyota).

And lastly, I have a brand new set of authentic JP kit.  I have the front/back bumpers, side skirts, and door caps (no fogs).

I know this is sounding like im selling stuff post, but there arent much people with GS300 (1st gen), so I thought id target you first. And since you have a JP theme going, you might be interested.

Let me know if you are interested in some of the parts.

originaly the GS was going black until the very last minute! it was more of a compilation of reasons than just a color choice! i decided the first gen is too round and loses to much of its details in black! silver makes the phantom vents, body lines, etc stand out! nothing compares to a silver JZS147!

the rest of the parts will be silver too! i still had a chance to 2 tone it with black bottom but i decides to go with CLEAN>different! keep in mind i have 5% tints that i love and all the window trim is coming in new from the dealer and is a semi gloss black so that whole upper midsection is black! i dont want too much black just subtle details like the emblems and the insides of the vents!

in theory SCARFACE will be a ghetto version of Philly's GS! black dishes and limo tints! :smiley-rofl:

91-01 here, AW C-SAR in H60's...All my deployments were westpacs in the gulf flying off the back of guided middle cruisers, destroyers, and frigates.  Miss flying, don't miss the Navy..lol.

UPDATE!

PLATINUM had the GS ready last night and i couldnt resist to go pick it up!! hopefully the 3 piece wing will be ready this week along with a few other minor details! all in all Kennedy did a full restoration to this car plus all the mods!! THE GS CAME OUT HAAAARD!! im not good at explaining shyt but hopefully he can share some details about the body work!

My favorite kit has always been the VLENE existence! Whether its still in production I have no clue! The Junction kit is a bit too oldschool but we will see when I'm ready! For now the last thing I want to do is put the GS back in a shop! I just want to cruise!

i doubt you'll gain any negative camber by removing the rca at your height. spacing the spindle up puts the uca further in travel. past a certain point you should actually gain negative camber with an rca. this is all theory of course, i haven't got around to actually measuring altough i do have some evidence that it is true.

its a long story of trial and error but the RCAs definitely reduced excessive negative camber i used to get at 0psi! also the LS calipers are a direct bolt on after spacing out the lower tie rod bolt! i rather use the RCA to space out the two than cutting the bolt like most do!

as far as the camber, you may be right but i still want to measure becuase it's something i've been curious about. my theory is that you are altering the dynamic curve, not making a static adjustment. depending on length and positioning of arms i think you may see a positive gain at some heights and a negative at others.

no for sure i agreed with you 100%! on other news! the 95 LS calipers also fit the 2gs! :biggthumpup:

seems to me like you may be able to use 2gs lbj and then you wouldn't need the rca (assuming you wanted to get rid of them). i think you could also expect some bumpsteer correction because the tie rod end mount would be dropped.

okay so i swapped out the 1.5 inch 35mm RCAs to some smaller 1.25 inch 35mm RCAs. although it doesnt seem like the quarter inch actually allowed me to clear tire thread under the fender which is my biggest pet peeve. i would say the front is good enough until i come up with some front UCAs. the SPC ones allow 2 degrees of movement both ways from stock and i think it might be enough to allow me to tuck some sidewall. also remember my camber adjustments are at their minimal setting so i can pull the bottoms out about 6 degrees if need be. lets see where this shit goes from here! :dance:

putting in some good work. what are your rear camber specs? the rca swaps don't seam to be having a huge affect on the fitment, most likely because they are kicking out the bottom vs pulling in the top. i think the logical process is to get the adjustable ucas to get the fitment where you want it, then use the stock eccentic bolts/rcas/camber rcas to match the camber front and rear. something tells me that the night pager rcas will give you the desired look in combination with the ucas.

i had the nightpager RCAs before. they are good for conservative wheel fitment. my current RCAs offset the lower mounting points of the spindle by 1.25 inches. the thing with having upper arms is that top of the wheel also shifts outward. therefore i cant just set the top and adjust the bottom. i think my current setup will be perfect when i pick up UCAs. :shrug:

think about your pivot points. one is the lbj, the other is the bj on the uca.
 
by spacing out the lbj (via camber rca) you are also pushing the spindle outwards, which is why you are getting more poke even though you are achieveing the camber you are looking for.
 
if you adjust from the top pivot point (negative camber on the adjustable uca) you will be pulling the top of the spindle in, which will result in better fitment. i'm not exactly sure why you are saying that the new uca will shift the top of your wheel outwards, but if they are not able to adjusted to a length shorter than the oem uca then they are pretty much worthless.

the reason i say that you could have got away with the night pager rca's is because you are pretty much already there as far as camber spec, you just need to suck everything in to get the fitment right. if you keep the studio rcas and adjust the fitment via adjustable ucas you will end up with a lot more camber up front than out back (not a good look imo). since you said you are already at the minimum camber setting on the eccentric bolt there will be no fixing this. by shortnening both the uca (adjustable) and replacing the offset rca you will be pulling the spindle inward.

"although i LOVE doing things to the GS i must admit that i feel relieved that it will almost be SATISFACTORY enough for this season! f*ckin 18's are almost as wide as they are tall. and yes, the editing just so happened to WORK out with the "you" a star son. killed it. gs1 game you can say is pretty much over. gotta see some of those lingering mods you mentioned boss. all i can add to in terms of constructive criticism is the orange corners. those chipped out in clear or even same smoked like clear as the blinkers/revers on tails would be over the top to me. probably wouldn't even want to take away from everything else going on with aero. maybe some custom skirts or something if you can't leave it alone.

I dunno, i think its quite low enough. If it had a bulky side skirt it would look a lot lower. Since that curves in quite a bit it doesnt look as low. I say get a lip kit, and you have done it far beyond right

no idea the exact number! it was gradually reduced until it reached the desired look! :shrug:

i like that, no need to follow a formula, just cut it till it looks good.

i just want to put this out there but..... wheels specs, fender radius, etc. are not some magical numbers anyone can use to replicate a build! especially when you consider this car had 10 pages of carfax and the front end looked like it was put back together by a 5 yr old when it was picked up. i hope these numbers help you guys out but dont be disappointed if they dont work for your build. i am not surprised i have full lock to lock clearance with the 10.5s up front without rubbing anything (i dont want to set anyone up for failure using my info) :shrug:

I think Cuban is right. It's not in the doors cause it's not where most people do that. If anyhing it's better cause you don't have to cut into the door. A f50 will eat a radius for breakfast and shit it ou the next day. I noticed on mine after the great pull that an inch looks like half an inch now. A non pulled arch will look higher up a pulled arch won't

we cut exactly 2 inches off of them! they arent really angled but we did offset the top piece about 1/2 and inch to it would sit closer to its stock location otherwise i gained alot of positive camber! i still have the STUDIO RCAs in the garage i want to experiment with! i gained about 7 degrees of camber up front with those things! imagine if i put them back on! im at about -5ish right now =)

Okay so thats why it's so close to the spring. When I did mine I didn't even remember to take camber into consideration, I was only worried about the knuckle clearing the bag 'coz my abs wire hanger had minor contact when dumped...

is there a formula to tire stretching where it doesnt balloon out? I notices the wider the wheel with more the aggressive stretch the more rounded it gets. I personally like the straight square style i have now. 

Just curious is all. I also notice that cause of this it raises the car height a bit, or it appears to be so

i think it has more to do with the make/model of the tire. i've noticed that most tires are pretty predictable once you're familiar with them regardless of size.

That is what I had initially thought.. but the only time I ever saw it was due to extreme size and width. and some were square too, so i thought it was just a varying combination. Bridgestone can do it, and i have seen where they dont. i guess it also depends on the sidewall height too i guess

most wheel/tire combos i see first hand aren't super aggressive stretch wise. there's probably a breaking point somewhere.

yup it depends on make/model! falken are usually the roundest looking stretch. hankooks are PERFECT!

thanks for all the nice comments!! the plan is definitely to enjoy where the build is at for a little while! the best part is that i can drive it the hardest right now too! and no more getting stuck on random driveways! i actually needed the camber is the rear in order for my wheels to clear my fenders when i angled on driveways!

i got pulled over once for the tints which seems to be the only violation that most officers know off the top of their heads. but since then i roll with all 4 windows down and the sunroof open and i removed the 2 front curtains for daily driving! to my understanding an officer cant cite you if he doesnt know the exact violation. some other considerations are that i carry my badge on me in my car (im a MP) and my active duty military i.d. card. ooh and im not a resident of this state either i will always use my florida driver license. which reminds me i need to register this thing in florida.

My camber specs are weak compared to some here and def very weak compared to yours and i gotta flip in 2k miles. So you think you can get like 400 out of that? Very clean 1st gen, always had a soft spot for one.

my goal with this is too just break into the oni camber scene by hitting double digit camber in the front and rear. the rear is pretty much perfect to me as far as fitment and stance goes.. if and when i get a kit i am sure the ride height will change and so will the fitment. all i have left to do is get my front uppers completed and bring them to double digits and i will be at my goal. i must admit when i was at -8.67 front camber the steering was too sensitive for me above 70mph. in the end i will have to decide whether to sacrifice function or form. right now i cruise easily at 80mph on the freeway before the steering is more sensitive than i like. :shrug:

this is my daily and i would have to agree that my fronts wear alot faster than my rears. im rocking some brand new hankook v12s on the rears and i buy used tires from the forums for the fronts! i found a stack of used continental runflats for 100 bucks that i am still using. :dance:

as for how many miles or how long tires last exactly.. i dont keep track..

Seeing this and the new wheels live makes you really appreciate the insaneness/crazyness of this build. Looks so wild coming at you and personally I think the zweels flow w/ the modern theme of Chris's car better. Remember it's a 93 lol

my new specs are...

19x9 et+10 still have to do the math because the fitment changes due to the RCA spacing the wheels out
19x10 et-7 plus a 25mm spacer sooo et-32ish

-10.48 camber up front
-20ish camber in the rear also need to get it measured since the final product was done in my garage

Okay so your already running spacers in the back. Are you gonna tone it done from there until it'll barely fit, or are you already there? It's odd that you got that much camber outta those RCA's without the wheel sinking in. I measured that I had about 8-9deg. with the  20x9,5"/-13 fronts and managed to get it to tuck just barely:shrug:

Would be hella sweet to get a matching -20/-20 camber setup, although there's no point. Just to see people's faces when you drive by =)

a quick run down on the rears!!!...

i used to tuck 18x12.5s+10 and it was perfect.... so when i threw on the 19x10-7 with the same camber it was hella sunk! the idea was to make them more -offset so i added the 25mm spacers.... when did that the wheel became 19x10-32 and became too wide!! then i just started cambering the RUCAs in until the fitment was perfect!...

before the RUCA has 5/8 of an inch of gap btween the locking nut and the adjustment nut... now its at 2/8.... so i can still lay these down 2/8 of an inch more but the fitment is perfect!!! so the rears are done =)

all i have to do is make the fronts perfect which they look pretty close with a 5mm spacer i JUST threw on there so eventually maybe after i get kitted i can re-do some new wheels to the perfect specs and not run spacers anymore. GAME OVER!! =)

Tires should hold up for months depending on miles lol if you drive 300 miles and burn out every day it's days. Mine since my suspension is soft so the tires scrub a lot on when it goes up and down. But since your coilovers aremuch firmer it shouldn't wear as bad

the biggest factor in tire wear is actually getting stuck on speedbumps and trying to get over them! i get into an unintentional burnout atleast once a week from this! otherwise tire wear is fine we drove to murrieta and back (1.5 hours of highway each way) when i was at -12.5 camber didnt notice ANY wear at all!

you have to be riding on sidewall for this to work eh? that factor alone, where the tire isn't designed to touch the road, should amount to some concern well at least for me it is. i love love LOVE this setup, so nuts and still super driveable!
