FINALLY got my Q, now time for the fun
Hey guys, I'm new around but I'm excitied to become part of the community! About 4 days ago I picked up a 2000 Q45t with 120,000 miles on it for 6k. I know, I know I probably couldve gotten a better price, but I'm happy with the car:biggthumpup:
Anyways here's a few pics so you get an idea of what I'm working with..=)
Immediatley after i got the car I installed a touchscreen headunit but thats all I've gotten around to so far...
Now as far as everything else is concerned I'm still a little up in the air on which route I want to go... I want S13/S14 suspension but im concerned that getting the parts will be tedious and getting it actually installed will be almost as much as air or going another route.. I really dont want to cut too many corners but I am on a tight budget so a little help as to which suspension setup would be the most cost effective would be appreciated!!
Also, does anyone know anyone know much about the seat warmers? My drivers side one doesnt work and I'd just like to have everything in working order...are there motors for these things or what? Ha, I'm clueless

I had a Mazdaspeed ProteGAY too. What color did you have?
Glad you picked up the Y33. Stop smoking (camels) and save the money for car parts  Plus you'll live longer to work on your car.

can you take off you brakes and reinstall them yourself?
if so, then the 240 swap is the way to go.
or if you got some time and are in no rush you can wait for the pbm coilovers, or order the megan coils for the car. both require a little welding.

Thanks guys. I'm trying to get more of an idea of where i want to go with this car.. at first I really wanted some Euroline DH's but i just feel like it would make the car look too plain and i want it to be bolder than that. So I was thinking about getting some gold/bronze rims with a polished chrome lip. Like the Work VS-XX
How do you guys think this would look, I cant make up my mind!
I was also thinking getting straight pipes once i get wheels and suspension in a few months, but im worried it might be too loud and might send the car over the top..anyone run straight pipes on here?

used dh's and a custom refinish would be way cheaper than new vsxx. although new or newly refinished vxss in zero to negative offsets would look better with the car imho.

Yeah i didnt even think of that. I love the vsxx but they are expensive as shit. Some DH's would actually look pretty good refinished in gold.
I'm also thinking about getting some straight pipes..but still not sure if theyd be too ridiculously loud.. I just found this car so inspiring =)

Straight pipes will be really loud. A few of us did the rear muffler delete and straight pipes out the back, that seems to be the big hit. It's nice and mellow, not loud, but when you step on it, it's got the V8 rumble.
On my M I replaced the rear muffler w/ Magnaflow dual in/out and removed the resonators for extra ground clearance plus there's an equalizer pipe. This car sounds even better than my Q did and there's no drone at any speed or RPM, so I'd suggest something like what I'm running on the M. I drive w/ my windows down and radio low half the time just to enjoy the sound lol

Recently running into some electrical problems that have me worried..Sometimes I crank the car or whatever and it just completely shuts off; no power at all or anything. Just a lump of metal. Ive found that producing a spark by touching my keys to the fuse box (i guess) next to the battery restores all the power and lets me start the car..(sounds retarded, i know)
Anyone know what this is?
Im sure its pretty simple, but im still learning alot about the actual mechanics of cars so I have no clue.
