Anyone have a clue where to find a rivit socket?

I seem to can't find the socket for this bolt does anyone know where i can find one? Im want to take my wheels apart to get redone but i have no tool to hold the bolt.

i have never seen anything like that. i'm assuming you tried a 6 point socket and it didn't work. (?)

try asking a wheel shop that does refinish work, mine said if needed they could provide me with sockets.

You can go to harbor freight and get the SPLINE SOCKET set .They will work on all type of bolts

The wheel shops over here sells those chinese discounted 20s lol. But yeah i might ahve to hit up harbor freight and check that socket out and see.

I just tried both standard and metric 6-point socket and it is not even close to that rivit lol. The sockets have a rounder groove compare to those square shaped rivits.

doesn't have to be the same as long as it will hold it. use the nut on the back to loosen.

DAMNN!!! Bad news. I googled that tool and it took me to another forum where another person had the same problem. Since Avus was out of business he had to get that tool made for $300!!! And his tread was back in 08' FML. Need another alternative tot his one.

Use a long nose vise grip and get new assembly bolts.

VIP-  might have to contact the snap-on guy he comes to our shop every Tuesdays. If not then ima Vise grip that bitch. 

Gee- You are right I don't think i want to spend a bill or two for a tool that i only be using once. When im going to get new bolts for them. ima try the vise grib sometimes today and see how it goes.

I had to think outside of the box when I did my fabs because no one had the socket. Not even snap on lol. I went ghetto, but I got the job done :)

If you use a impact to loosen the nut on the rear alot of times they come loose without having to hold the front since it was pushed through the wet sealer when assembled.

EDIT: I see your's is not sandwiched. It still may work without even holding the front.

That's worth a shot.   

If you are going to replace the hardware and you have patience you could take a drill press to them.

that is funny... because usually that is the last resort tool..  like after trying to take a phillip head screw out and stripping it or somehow stripping the head of a bolt.

Get a flat head screw driver and a hammer, and start slowly turning it like how u sculptural ice.

Thats strange. Almost looks like a wheel lock.

get that thing you see advertised on tv that socked that holds all sorts of stripped bolts cause it has hundreds of metal bars in it

Yooo!! i got almost all of it out besides 3 or 4 i think. I had to use a special snap-on socket. The ones that are still stuck ima have to use that vise grip lulz. Post pics up soon


Edit: Ok just tried the vise grip and its not working due to the slope angle of the rivet. Now i got all 4 rivets loose now the problem is that the rivet is spinning with the nut. sigh*
