2003 M45 Y34 Question. Help!

Hello I'm new to the forums and I have been reading lots of post and am glad that it's still active. I love my 2003 Infiniti M45, but i want to install my Galaxy Tab so I can use google maps, play music, video chat(parked) etc...

But I need to install a head unit that has a AUX input. My question is if it's possible to install an aftermarket radio where the CD/Tape deck is?

I found this picture on the internet but no information. How can I do this??

And if it's impossible also let me know. Thanks!

You need to keep the tape deck and push it up inside the dash since it is the brain of the entire system and it can't be removed.

If you replace the head unit you are also going to have to add your own amps and either tap the stock wires or run new wires. This is because the bose system has its own amp built in.

Any good audio shop can do it.

You also have the option of just adding an aux input to your stock radio through the SAT or CD changer input. That info is listed in the link posted above.

Thanks for the info, very helpful community...

I found the information from another site about the picture I posted:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/2003-m45-mods-t424251.html

The PAC Audio Video kit gives you 2 sets of RCA inputs which can be displayed on the stock nav screen. (ie. a dvd player and reverse camera)

What I have done with my system is added a Alpine DVD Head unit with RCA outputs, which plays dvd's and also has Ipod control.

So now when you hit the SAT radio button it switches the video/audio inputs on and I can play DVD's and music through my ipod/iphone

Here is a pic of the head unit.

Does anyone know what PAC Audio Video Kit he's talking about?

The site with the integration products is: http://pac-audio.com

It looks like as long as you have the SAT button you can easily integrate aux audio with the PXAUX and the PGHNI2 harness. Not sure on that though because they don't list our car but they do say as long as you have the SAT button you are ok.

As far as video you would have to have the factory NAV but I am not sure on how/which product to use to integrate.

I think I will keep the tape/cd deck as it is, I like the stock look. But I definitely don't want to use those tape adapter deals...

I still would like to know what specific adapter I need to order to add a simple aux input. Is the only option to connect it through the FM antenna?

I dont know sheit about upgrading audio equipment, but upgrading the audio equipment is probably one of the more complex projects in this car. With this intergrated Bose display, it’s not an easy task. I've inquired about it in the past and quickly gave up. This car is very sensitive when it comes to the electronics, so be verrrry careful who you allow to work on it. Personally, not worth it to me.

Google a member named "Boon" on the nicoclub forums. Boon was probably one of the more technical individuals when it came to this 03/04 M45 audio setup. Good luck.

I'm going to buy this package:

http://replacementradios.com/product_info.php?cPath=340_423&products_id=547

Plus the XIAH-RCA and a male stereo 3.5 mini (headphone) jack to male RCA adapter...

This should effectively give me 2 aux inputs...
