W220 w/ Shaved body moldings

I have searched and searched and searched and couldn't find anything. I'm wondering if maybe someone has seen it done, or maybe it was in a VIP car magazine. Has anyone seen a W220 S-Class with the side moldings shaved? Or failing that if someone is good at photoshop...

The thing is i'm not sure the curvature of the door will support the side moldings being shaved. Has anyone even seen this done?

If they could do that with the W215 then i'm sure it'd be fine with my doors. Still holding out for W220 pics.

Not when your moldings are dinged to shit and crooked as shoot cause the car got smacked in the back and you have to make new quarter panels out of fiberglass because the everything is rusting out and 2 doors are missing the bottom inch cause of rust........ =) Shaving the side moldings is a drop in the bucket.

Matte black is tough for me because on one hand you see it a lot and it's been done a thousand times, but on the other hand its really, really dope. I think i'm going to do a test panel without the body moldings and go from there.

And the W215 is my next car. Gotta get one of those. And then parts would be interchangeable with my W220 in a post apocalyptic event.

i think would be tight, but those moldings are like that for good reason. when they are gone. Those people hit your door with their door.

I personally find it looking worse without them..especially when they're still used on the front and rear bumper such as that 215. Some cars just look better with them...It kills the flow without them.

The W220 is a fantastic looking car. I am a fan of shaving body moldings, emblems, and other exterior objects. However, in this situation - the car from the factory has great continuity. I feel this alteration would be disrupting its flow; there would be no esthetic benefit. Then again opinions are like "________" everyone’s got one.

I took a body molding off and put vinyl over it and eyeballed it and did not like it. I'm going to keep them on. My chrome is all beat up so I may either A) fill in the chrome and delete it or B) body filler the dents (since they can't be PDR'd) and wrap them in carbonfiber or something.

Nah the only pics I took were of the vinyl on the car. It looks like bubbles but its from the pinstripe that was clear coated in the paint that I cut out with a razorblade. I need to DA it down.
