Previa/Estima IRS Options?

Wsup all? Noobie here!

First off, lovin everyone's eggs! Props on all the awesome work, can't wait to build one myself. :)

I think one of the most important things will be the suspension set up. I am still undecided if I want to go with a cheap static drop (coilovers or a shock & strut set-up); or if it would be worth it to go with a custom air set up.

I know for the aggressive styling I am looking for (excessive rear camber included) it will need some sort of independent rear suspension set up. I recall seeing some of you guys swap in the TCR11 rear subs, however I don't know what to search for on Yahoo JP Auctions in order to find it? Any help on keywords would be dope.

Is there other cheaper options avalible for getting the desired effect? Perhaps a state-side subframe that is easily modifiable for the TCR10 rear end? I'd assume a big chunk of the TCR11's cost would be sunk in shipping.

Anyway, hope all this hasn't been previously discussed, I attempted a couple searches but found no results. I'm sure I will have plenty of other noob questions as I go.

Thanks,
Brandon

There is a member here that has done the rear subframe swap(shawnthemonster). I would like to do this as well but its a pricey mod. Probably around $1k+ as it isnt just a bolt in affair.

I havent gotten around to taking measurements or anything yet. Im just waiting to get my coilovers in first. I was thinking possibly an s14 subframe. Not sure it would work but I can deffinatley get one way cheaper than a estima irs. Not olny that the rcuas and lca's and uca's are easier to come by and cheaper for an s14. I could get an s14 complete rear hub to hub for about $200< and its already lsd and 5lug.

I mean, if I am going to have to fab mounts and trim the estima rear I can save loot and maybe use one from another chassis. Just a thought.

Yes, exactly my thoughts. shawnthemonster executed it very nicely and was def an inspiration for considering this route. I will have to see how the S14's rear subframe fits when I have a Previa to play with. Thanks for the idea jrb1449!

Haha, no doubt. Since when have 'nice cars' and 'easy' ever gone together? :P
