I was also tempted to trade in my vehicle for the Mazda 5 when it came out. Its definitely a good buy if you need a tall wagon.

As stated in another forum, the wife and I are trading in our box for a Mazda 5. Currently waiting for the 08 models to come out next month as they will have added features we wanted. I saw a Mazda 5 getting a DAMD kit put on at the bodyshop next to my house. The guy said the US spec back bumper was longer by about 2 inches so they needed to cut and fabricate that peice to fit properly. Does the 08 conform to the Japanese measurements?
US bumpers are longer because of the impact rebar. You could either remove the rebar, or lengthen the bumper. It's the first Mazda minivan I'd buy...it looks sleeker than their cars!
When I used to work at a Mazda dealership,I always liked how the Mazda5 looked.I too said it would look sick slammed on some rims.and a motor swap from a Mazdaspeed3 would make it even better.

OMG Kenstyle is at it again. They amaze me with the sexiness of their kits.
Here's my new family mover... just picked up a 2007 Mazda5 Touring last week. So far just tint (and tinted tail lights... I can't stand the euro-ish tails) and dropped on Tein S-Tech springs from a Mazda3. I'm going to keep it simple and clean since it's my lady's daily driver. i wanted a Mazda 5 when i was looking at trading cars. i was stepping out of my 2000 Chevy Malibu. the 5 was too expensive for my income. i was only making $8.50/hr and am now making $9/hr. still can't afford one. so i got an 06 toyota tacoma. i love my truck, but i still want a 5. i was thinking of taking out the middle row, fabbing up a new floor to make the middle row completely disappear (no seat rails, no cuts in the carpet, no nothing. just smooth) and having the third row seats padded a little better and have them heated and cooled. it'd basically be a compact limo. i'd also put a huge tv behind the front seats to act as a divider. the entire interior would be really plush and comfortable. i'd also add a mini bar and woodgrain tables. of course slam it on some deep dish 18s and tint the windows. i'd definitely go w/ the new 08 model b/c of the new tail light design. i really dig the LED lights
they look really nice ive seen one at the sd airport with big brakes and kitted .. defitaley would look good if some one made it vip..

According to the EPA, it's a wagon. We just picked up a red '08 Grand Touring last month, and I'm itching to mod it lol. Too bad nobody makes a kit for the 08+ yet.

Anyone else done one? I just picked one up 2012 in red with a *gasp* 6spd! I got rid of my BMW for this, love the space and the ability to fit my whole family if necessary. OZ Mitos and tint going on this week and drop it shortly. Don't see any kits or anything else for them though.

yup. Like many new vans, it has that thunder thigh look to it. The last Quest had it, THe new Ody has it. This Mazda 5 has it. bleh. New Ody had EVERYTHING going for it, and somehow they screwed it form the side doors back
Mine is red and seems to carry the shape better
these are the only ones i know of that came with stick shift 5 speed i'd love to get one if i had the money and make it look really nice.

Wheel offset sucks, I got some OZs that I'm going to really have to work to get lips on this van.

Haha, I dont think anybody knew. :smiley-rofl: Nice find on those parts!! Im sub'd to your build for awhile now so ill see when you get them on. As for the eyeliner, Its just below the low beam projector. I have a leveler and with the beam pointed down as far as possible i get a slight amber lower cut off. It looks pretty cool. Ill see if i can capture it in a pic. Next things I plan are to hunt down a spoiler (maybe auto exe), Replace the lower window trim with polished trim, Smaller tires so i can tuck up front. Sequential rear turn led panels, Swap steering wheel and add some more junction produce goodies. After that not sure yet lol. From what I know I have the first bagged of this gen in the states. There could be more being built, but who knows as van builds stateside are sadly slim to none. Maybe I should make a build thread and post the rest of the pics i have so far. And a van meet sounds awesome!!
